Interesting... Though I can't see how that ties in with my experience (same warning light though!)

[Mk2] [Turbo] Warning Light - Oil pressure?

Odd one for you guys. Rev 2 Turbo - JDM GT spec with the stock CT26. 100,000 miles. I put my foot down last week and as the car hit high revs the handbrake warning light came on. I've been told this doubles as an oil pressure/oil level warning light so I stopped and checked it out. Level was fine bu...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] Gearbox Probs

Can I just say I did that today too, and you dont need to remove the split pin and the pin, just undo the holding nut and turn the rod, its like adjusting a gearchange rod on a bike, so can do it in a 10th of the time and not have to faff about getting the pin back in etc. I tried that - the rod ju...

This might help;

Also, fill the box with Redline MT90 - a lot of people worship the stuff.

Hope this helps.

Re: [Mk2 NA] Lack Of Gears

Combination of wear on the bushes at both ends could cause that - strange that it went so suddenly though. Could the mounting for the gear lever have worked loose in the cab? That would explain it better I think. For reference - if it is the shift-bearings you can replace the old rubber/bronze beari...

Re: [Mk2 NA] Lack Of Gears

Can't imagine that a bump which caused no cosmetic damage would hurt the gear selector. You say it won't get gears, can you provide some more info? Does the shifter get stuck in neutral or does it grind the gears? You can pop the leather geargaiter off easily and check that the mechanism is still in...

Re: violent shaking!!!

Different tyre sizes (i.e. differnet grip and different limits across an axle) could kill you, so if I was you I'd change the pair of them ASAP and get the wheels tracked/balanced at the same time. Remember to shop around for tyres. I've usually got 50% off my first quote even for Toyos by getting d...

Did the adjustment today. Works perfectly now - like a brand new gearbox.

To be safe I checked the hydraulic fluid as well. It's got no signs of bubbles or water ingress but I think I'd best do it at the next service to be sure.

Re: Overheating

From what Dave said I would have thought it'd be an easy test. If there's a failure in the HG letting turbo gases into the coolant system it'll also let turbo pressure in there. There's a pipe that runs from the top of the coolant filler bottle, behind the relay box. It dumps excess coolant out. Mov...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] Gearbox Probs

Hopefully be able to adjust it tomorrow. How? A hydraulic clutch can't be adjusted. The pedal height can but that won't have any affect on the release arm assembly.. :? http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=158 The link details what I'm planning to do. If I length...

[Mk2 Turbo] Gearbox Probs

Hi everyone, anyone got any ideas about this? I'm having trouble selecting gears. Sometimes. When it's bad the car will not go into gear. I end up pressing the lever so hard that my arm hurts before it finds a cog. It doesn't grind the gears, it just won't leave neutral. It doesn't make any differen...

Re: MAJOR hesitation when cold.....

Update - ECU. Bought one cheap just to test it - now runs fine. Seems that the Blitz makes it stutter, hardly surprising when you think it's mapped for totally different grade of fuel... Truth be told I hadn't realised just how bad the problem was till it went away. Response to throttle inputs is tr...

Twin-speed fuel pump?

I seem to remember reading on here a while ago that the 3S-GTE has a twin-speed fuel pump, slow off boost and high on boost.

Does anyone know if that's true?
