Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] clutch for 450-500bhp
Got an RPS 450ft/lb. Its ok but heavy with a low bite. Probably go for something like Chris next time round.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Tom's underbody brace?
I've got a Tom's front upper and its good.
The lower is only two point so I used a Tanabe one instead.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Big uprated fuel system setup, have a question.
Not sure the drawing is quite right TBH. Thats not how it looks internally anyway. I think the normal convention is for manifold pressure to assist in closing the regulator (raising pressure), as well as how much tension you put on the spring by winding down the adjustment. Yoiu've drawn yours being...

I doubt they'd fail. I don't think testers will be looked for CE markings? So long as they look sensible and work correctly when hooked up to their tester, i doubt they look any closer.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] some progress pics, GT3071R MR2
I don't neccessarily agree that bracing from underneath doesn't bend? Its still bent metal bar? I've been running a Motoria/XS Power manifold for some time, fitment is not ideal but it has been cherry red whilst mapping and seems ok. If only the turbo studs would stop coming loose!

Re: FINALLY - 720 BHP / 565 LB-FT
£4k on headwork is insane, at £100/hr thats a whole week, no way if they know what their doing. Obviously did something right though. Someone asked how much for 400bhp I think. If you can use spanners £8k will do it. ECU £1k, internals £1k, IC £1k, Turbo £1k, Fuelling £1k, Other bits £1k, Build cost...

Even the cheap ones are fine, just not as good.
If expense is not a concern get a R34 one. Why not get a CC, I probably would if starting again.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT3071R on stock engine with bolt-ons
My mate broke his GT4 at 1.2bar. Stock pistons are kek. A gt30 will be tame at 1.2bar, run it over 1.7bar and stock pistons are not viable. The risk is you really break something and scrap the the whole engine. If your happy to budget for a new block then ok, but not really sensible.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Forged internal advice required
Agree with others. Avoid JE, they are noisy. My Wiseco's are nice and quite, minor bit of noise until warm then very quiet. Very similar mettalurgically as HKS/Cosworth. I have also heard of Eagle little ends getting rattly. I have them in and they are fine, although not done many miles on them. If ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT2876r
Oh, there's no doubt i'm jealous, but I do still stand by my post in that it wouldn't be drivable and in a lot of cases would get beaten by less powered cars and dare say it, less powered MR2s on the road
I'm struggling to see that

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT2876r
Fair does. But most of his time is on the road and that kind of torque would be unusable and dangerous anyway. Not to mention one important fact.....were in the UK . I'm betting it will spend most of it's time on the spot spinning Yeah, 350/350 is ideal for the road really. Suprisingly the grip is ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT2876r
My cars not very laggy, just more lag than I had wanted. The GT28's are only one down from a GT30 so the spool won't be massively different. Just will be better if your not after such high numbers. You can drive 500bhp in any conditions if your carefull and use it wisely. Its only as quick as your r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] question for the turbo guru's - wastegate location
Mines only making about a bar slightly higher. Weird for a 3071? Made over 500bhp which is pleasing but would like better spool.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] question for the turbo guru's - wastegate location
TBH I am a little dissapointed with the spool on mine. I expected a lot more lower down. Thats why I went for a 3071 and not something bigger. I exceeded my expectations in terms of results but the spool could be a lot better. Considering NOS so we will see..............
