Re: Rear brakes MR2 AW11 - MK1a

From memory, I don't think it will make a difference . The pads are symmetrical, so with them fitting both ways around, I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Shell Helix HX7 10W-40 Synthetic Technology Premium Engine Oil

I would suggest a 10W 40 semi synth where possible, rather than a fully synth oil. For me, the engine doesn't warrant the additional cost of a fully synth unless you're giving it a regular pasting on track etc... I'm lucky, in that being in the oil blending business, I only pay around a pound per li...

Re: The Twincharger

There are a small number of cars that have been sold on here over the years, which are hard (almost impossible) to put a value on. This is certainly one them. A few years ago, the first response here would have been sadness that a long time member was selling up (especially since this is very much a...

Hi,

It doesn't take long, so not sure what's happened here. I'll look into it.

Couldn't possibly say.

Sorry to hear your news. The potential knock on effect up here is huge. I've received a huge upsurge in CVs being sent to me over the last few weeks.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Your knowledge is clearly more up to date than mine!

As said, I have no issues with being corrected. :thumleft:

Hope the car you bought arrives in one piece and is as described - it can be a long wait! :thumleft:

Re: Search for Super Edition

Yep. Only after I typed my reply. That's why I added the disclaimer.

Supers were only built in 1989. I've just double checked this elsewhere ;-) and still stand by my post.

A Special Edition is still a rare car though. :thumleft:

Re: Search for Super Edition

It's a Special Edition. Slightly different from memory; no Recaro Milano seats or Momo gear knob and steering wheel and polished tear drop wheels. The Super Editions were pretty much the end of line AW11. This car is from 1988. I *think* most Supers were back end of '89 and are generally on F plates...

A bolt that had no need to be there. It was fairly mangled through heat and damage too.

The belt snapped/shredded after 1300 miles.

Re: Does this look normal

Interesting. They certainly aren't supposed to be there, but I can't see what would have caused the damage in the immediate vicinity. That damage will reduce the belt life fairly quickly, so the fact you need to change it anyway is a good thing.
