Re: And it magically disappears
Hopefully it isn't a recurring theme. BUT IMOC needs to be aware of both its responsibilities to its affiliates and its members. This case was taken to court and the member won his case. That's fine by us and, the mods did discuss it in depth. If an affiliate consistently lets our members down, we w...

Re: And it magically disappears
I moved it. If the poster had anything new to add he could have done it through trader feedback. As Sheppy pointed out in his post, the OP was sounding off as a parting shot. The court dealt with it, he got his money so the case was closed. He was just mouthing off to start the usual rants about tra...

I think you're about right. It is a 'marmite' colour though so the right person may not have seen it yet.
£1750 sure can get a lot of car for the money these days!

Re: Water Pump **** up
It was going to be awkward putting the pump pulley on and lifting the engine into the car. Didn't want to damage it. If you do it again, leave the pulley on. You won't damage the pulley lifting the engine in. I used to take the intake plenum off, to give me a little more space, leaving everything e...

Re: MR2 in the snow... wow
Indeed. The weight over the rear wheels helps and you can steer it on the throttle. I used my car up here two and a half years ago through the winter. (The really bad one) I travelled from Newcastle to Sunderland each day and always made work. Some colleagues (one in an Audi Q7) couldn't / didn't ma...

Re: SC Radiator Required
Should only be a half hour job to change. It's been a while since I changed one, but I'm fairly sure it's only held in place by 2 brackets over the top of the radiator. Then it's a case of refilling the coolant and sorting out any air locks. It's the same part as a MK1b. As Jimi says ^ 1986 onwards....

Looking good. Your Tubby is similar to the one I had. (In that it certainly manages to suck the cash from your wallet!)

Re: Evo Recaro's fitted to my mk1
I will have a look at the routing of the radiator pipe tonight, how could you tell you had air in this pipe out of interest as wherever I squeeze the pipes on mine I can feel the coolant? The pipe wasn't as warm after the high point on mine. After a few good squeezes, a load of air came through the...

If it were two cars or owners, I'd agree with you. As long as the op is happy, I reckon we should let it roll.
There's been far more deviation in other threads in the past!

Re: Evo Recaro's fitted to my mk1
Ah, just noticed it's a 1.5! I had issues on mine when, on a long run at low revs, it would start to overheat. If I blipped the throttle, the temps came down. I figured this to be a combination of the water pump and the radiator. I pulled the water pump out and it was nicely corroded. Also the radia...

Re: Evo Recaro's fitted to my mk1
Overheating on the mk1 is usually always the same thing. If you are losing coolant: First check for leaks and wet patches and damage to the radiator fins. Then make sure your filler cap is in good nick. If it's ok and there are no leaks, it has to be engine issues, as the coolant is going somewhere....

Re: Reassembling Thread
If I'd pulled an engine apart to that degree, for the cost of the plugs, I'd change them.
However, I've not had a plug go for years.... which was my fault anyway for running a Fiesta with water only.
Pays ya money, takes ya choice.

Re: White Rev 3 Turbo Newcastle
I did a Christmas tree once... When I had a garden centre, we got some rather huge trees into various cars. The best one though, was a guy, with his girlfriend, in a Lotus Elise. He'd bought a patio lounger and wouldn't wait for delivery. He plonked his g/f in the passenger seat and set the 6ft box...

White Rev 3 Turbo Newcastle
I see this almost everyday, heading away from Newcastle, towards Walker, in the mornings and then back towards Newcastle in the evenings. Always looks well kept and in good condition. This morning however, slightly different. The T bars were off, nothing too unusual at this time of year. However, po...
