Re: Geo's Rev 5 Turbo

Hopefully get to meet you all on Sunday at TOTB, only know Simon up to now but your MR2 should be easy enough to find.

Re: Geo's Rev 5 Turbo

I'm looking forward to seeing this at TOTB at weekend. Wish you could talk Simon from YVS into bringing his car out of its retirement, miss seeing that thing at York Raceway. I nearly got him to do Totb wth me but in the end he wanted to come along to help out instead in the end. He's been too busy...

Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile

400 miles down and quite a few teething issues. Fixed some of them however the engine bay temps aren't so easy. Planning to move the alternator back to the mk2 location to free up a bit of breathing space around the bulkhead and manifold. Have also removed the rain tray which has made a difference. ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Celicas alternator, bracket, etc ... on MR2s ?

I run my alternator there and have had no issues do far. Don't need to change crank pulley but do need to make a lower slider to tension the belt as the Celica tensioner system is messy using extra pulleys. Also remember te bracket that bolts to head needs match your engine ie rev 1/2 uses st185 bra...

Re: Apexi AVCR boost issues, exhaust restriction maybe?

Thanks. From doing some reading on here a lot of people seem to have the duty around 60% so that's why I was a little concerned. Guess it will also depend on how good the stock actuator still is as well.

Apexi AVCR boost issues, exhaust restriction maybe?

Rev 3 turbo engine fitted in a mk3 now. Had the engine in my mk1 with very short 2.5" exhaust system and was making 1.1 bar at 82% duty on the AVCR. Put engine in the mk3 and only difference is the exhaust is 2 3/8" with two silencers and a lot longer with some sharper bends in. Now car is...

Turbo says CT26 on it on the photo where the air filter has been removed.

Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile

Put the first 60 miles on since the engine swap and all seems ok. Not much boost as still working through the tank of regular unleaded. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z163/Lee_H25/624C0840-95E2-4A9B-8EC7-D6945F18F61C-3058-0000037CC871501C_zpsc525bd3b.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z163/L...

Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile

Exhaust bodged for now, coolant system bled, had car running for an hour or so to check things and apart from a couple of small leaks was all ok.

Realised MOT has ran out whilst off the road so that will be its first trip on Saturday morning. Something to look forward too!

Yes two keys, won't work without the keys.

Would rather sell as a complete kit, you could always sell the mk1 boss and wheel on.

Handbrake issues

Decided to change my rear pads yesterday and am having a few issues now. Firstly whoever last changed the pads hadn't lined the cut outs in the piston with the raised bump on the inner pad so I had so major funny shaped pads and knackered discs (and no doubt reduced braking efficiency!) Wound the pi...

Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile

Wheels are pretty close to the arches as it is. At the moment it looks like on a hard launch when the back squats the wheels will just about fit inside the arch lips which is what I need. I intend to keep the suspension quite soft as I want the weight transfer to the rear when drag racing to help wi...

Just need a centre pipe making up for the exhaust now. Still a bit of a sleeper. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z163/Lee_H25/6621fc930a6a4b444069b998a58ee597_zpscb162a5e.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z163/Lee_H25/bc6058fc697eae0792ef2f3f3edf168b_zpsba607269.jpg http://i192.photobucket.c...
