Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev2 owners - Nice easy one for you.... SORTED!!!

Not sure where the black and white one goes can`t really see, it does go down the way of the ac comp though. Thanks again mate, Top man! Yea, there's not much else down there. Only other thing is the exhaust, gas, thingy, sensor and that has 2 wires. Must be a/c comp. Lovely jubbly platma...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Loss of power, turbo whistling..?

No mate, its nowhere near the downpipe and the wiring goes straight into the loom, so i doubt that would be related. In the engine bay, from the rear of the car, look to the left, and you will see the water filler cap. Just like a radiator cap. On the pipe that the cap is on, you will see a kind of ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] What battery do I need for my MR2 Jap Import?

Hi mate, I have recently bought a new battery from Halfords. They have 2 different types for the MR2. I believe the only difference in them is the amps. I decided to buy the dearest one which is this Halfords battery code: HCB005 (510Amps) It has this written on the battery. :thumleft: This is by fa...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev2 owners - Nice easy one for you.... SORTED!!!

Can somebody do me a little "easy" favour please? Can you have a look at your Oxygen sensor and tell me what colour the wire is, on the loom end of the plug, not the sensor end, please? The oxygen sensor being the single wire sensor, at the top of your cat / de-cat / downpipe (whatever you...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Loss of power, turbo whistling..?

I think there are 2 water temp sensors. 1. for the gauge on the dash 2. which i believe sends signal to the ecu. They are both on the water inlet manifold thingy. 1. Is a small round shape with a spade connector on it. 2. Is slightly bigger with a green plug connector. It could be no.2 ? Then the ga...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] whats been disconnected? (no fuel cut no boost gauge)

Isn't it the "boost pressure sensor" on the rev1/2 ?? Little black box next to your "Diagnostic" box. Mine has a sticker on top which makes it impossible top miss... it says "Boost Pressure Sensor" It should be plugged in electrically and also have a vent hose com...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] To Kit n' Spray..... or not - that is the question (your thoughts wanted!)

I just typed out a huge essay on modding, but then realised i only need to say this.... If you feel the need to ask the question you have asked, then i would say there's a little man in the back of your head saying "Don't do it!" A MR2 like yours is VERY RARE, and sort after. I think its a...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev1 turbo Throttle body on Rev2 ?

Just wondering, can i use a rev1 turbo throttle body on a rev2 turbo? I'm not talking about the funnel bit, only the actual rev1 Throttle body with the rev2 wider funnel part. I know the rev2 TB has 2 vent pipes coming out of the top, but my car is presently only using 1 of these anyway (which goes ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problems

Yea, it's always the same after raising the boost. Much better kick and more power, just took a little longer to reach whatever it was set at. About 1 bar at the time i think. thats about the max for a CT26. I'm affraid at the moment though i have no boost at all, as i'm having other "unrelated...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problems

Yea, its probably just that then mate.

I wondered why mine was taking longer to kick in, but when it did...wooohooo!!

One of the guys on here set me straight, nothing to worry about.

As long as everything seems to be running ok, it probably just down to your raised boost level.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost problems

Have you raised your boost recently? Your description reminds me of when my EBC was first set up, all of a sudden, it seemed to take longer for the boost to kick in. This was simply because the boost had been raised, so you have to wait a fraction longer, (untill the set boost pressure is reached) b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone know where these connectors go

Hi mate, The first photo is an earth lead, and the other end should be bolted to the top of the engine mount, or somewhere close by. In your second photo, bottom left hand corner, the thing that looks like a square solid metal block, it should be somewhere around that area. As for other plug, have y...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Tank/Pump worries = No Boost? :-(

Hi all, I've recently fitted a Walbro fuel pump but i'm thinking something is wrong. :? When i remove the fuel filler cap a lot more pressure than normal seems to be released. So much that it feels like the cap is trying to push itself off! As soon as the cap is off, the tank makes a "pop"...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] crank pulley

If you have the flywheel on: you can get a little bracket type thing, which has a whole in one end, (to bolt it to the block), and teeth on the other end, (which fit into the flywheel teeth), thus locking the flywheel in place, so the crank wont turn. :thumleft: This is what i use, but my mate gave ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] crank pully bolt

Get some heat on it mate.

I use one of those handheld burner, butane thingy's, leave the flame on and around the bolt for 5 mins, then chuck a cup full of cold water on it, then try.

Works for me. :thumleft:
