Re: Wheel alignment products
Gunson seem to do the same product, it's on a press release from 2011 but I can't find it to buy. I wonder if TrackAce have taken it over?

Re: Wheel alignment products
It was £120 for a full setup but it seems to have reduced to £60 this year. Had it done 3 times in the last 6 months and it's going to need another one soon.

Re: Wheel alignment products
I asked him about the rear a few weeks back and he said by the end of the year but was pretty vague about it so don't hold your breathe.
Just looking at some of stuff in the rest of the Gunson range thanks to Elbon's link.

Wheel alignment products
Has anyone had any experience with this or any similar products. I'm fed up of paying out at garages every time something gets replaced on my suspension and thought it might be useful :-

Wouldn't look past Superflex, those are great. Don't like the Prothane one's as they seem to wear a bit and the quality doesn't look as good.
I think Powerflex do them now, would probably be the same as Superflex I'm guessing.

Re: Ball joint removal
I remember when I used a sledgehammer to do this. Two years bad handling later and the control arm got replaced because it was ever so slightly bent.
I now own a ball joint splitter.

Re: LSD - significant benefits on a NA?
After 9 years I'm pretty used to the handling of a Mk1 by now and Ian Clements will confirm I can make full use of all grip in the corners. Not wrong there Ian! Your car felt strange from the passenger seat, almost as though the rear end was constantly trying to break loose but then finding more gr...

Re: Twosrus Tie Rods
No worries mate. Pete actually called me this morning to explain that rotational forces would have been to blame. Interesting that the nuts have corroded though, mine are the same, perhaps stainless nuts would have been better. If the nut hadn't have corroded, would the rod have snapped when you tri...

Seriously worried about mine now. Peter, is there anything you can say about this, considering going back to Toyota arms now.

Re: Twosrus Tie Rods
Just out of interest, are both of your tie-rods still 100% straight? I only ask because one of mine has bent slightly on the thread where I think yours has broken Red.

Re: Twosrus Tie Rods
Took the passenger side off first tonight - applied hardly any pressure to the rose joint nut and this happened -
Exactly what are we looking at there Red? Hoping that's not the end of the middle section of the tie rod.

Re: Twosrus Tie Rods
Yep. I supplied a pair this week. And i've sourced matching rubber boots too. [thumleft]
Thanks for that Pete. Just gone to fit them this morning and noticed that one of the spacers is bent so going to need one of those as well. Have you got any at the moment?

Re: Price of top mounts!!!!!
I put the car in for a wheel alignment because the steering was off centre and they found play in one of the top mounts, also a knackered lower ball joint. I think they've ordered one for me now so thanks for the offer anyway; would prefer to put new stuff on though. Lucky I already had one mount I ...

Re: Price of top mounts!!!!!
The garage I use has offered to get one trade price for me which I guess is the best offer I'll get.
Really grates me that the MK2 mounts are all over ebay for £60 but the MK1 mounts are twice the price. Money grabbing bu99ers!
Rant over....unless someone wants to start me off again.

Price of top mounts!!!!!
Just been quoted £99.63 +VAT for a top mount at Toyota - 48609-17020. Pretty disgusted, these used to be around £60 inc VAT.
Anyone else had this or am I being scammed by this dealer - Star City, Birmingham.

Re: Wheels bearings and wheel alignment.
I'm assuming it was last alignment when the conversion was done and it's been fine all year until now. You're right though, when I get chance I'll have a look and see whether there's anything else loose.
