[Mk2] [NA] Bonnet and the plastice section below the winscreen damaged

Hi all, I was driving the car and forgot to close the bonnet properly and the wind forced the bonnet to lift all the way up (I bricked it as i thought the windscreen is about to smash). As a result the bonnet is now slightly bent as well as the plastic section just below the windscreen (where the wi...

[Mk2] [Turbo] HKS SSQV Blow off valve - too much hissing noise - is it O ring?

Hi all,

I have had my HKS SSQV Blow off valve for over a year and for the first 6 months it was fine but now when i accelerate or de-accelerate, i hear the hissing noise constantly.

Have you ever run into this problem before? Could it be the O ring that has gone?

Thanks,
Pez

[Mk2] [Turbo] Los of power and air coming out of manifold gasket or manifold itself

Hi all, I was driving the car last weekend and noticed that the dump valve is not making much of hissing noise anymore. I Ignored it and drove home. I bought my MR2 about 3 years ago from a guy who was friends with this guy. This MR2 looked good before because everything was standard apart from the Alpine sign at the back.

Re: Will i pass MOT if my speedometer does not work?

The car is in a good condition since i look after it and service it regularly.

The only problem it has is the speedometer which I will be fixing in the near future but my MOT is due and I want to get it MOTd.

Surely if a mechanic can not diagnose a problem for months as you suggested, then he can not exactly be a good or experienced one.

You are doing the right thing asking around on this forum and i would definatly recommend tubbies.

The above setting is good as i currently have 32 front and 34 back and the car bounces round corners when going in small road holes as well as having not enough grip (the main grip problem is having Nankangs).

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What modifications is needed to up the boost a little?

intercooler/chargecooler and downpipe, you would also need to change the boost safety cut off/fuel cut, set at 18 psi. tbh a chargecooler would probably give you better results but the ct20b has shown itself to be unreliable beyond 1.2 bar, both creates to much heat and can shatter and therefore po...

[Mk2] [Turbo] What modifications is needed to up the boost a little?

Hi all, I own a rev 3 turbo with Apexi GT exhaust, Airl filter (bought from Rogue - can not remember the name), HKS bov, EBC and NGK Iridium Spark Plugs (grade 7 - Cooler Grade). I am currently on 1.2 bar (17 Psi). What other mods do i need so that i can up the boost a little safely? Thanks :thumleft:
