Re: MR2 PRICES.
I think the MR2 prices overshot on the way down anyway. I mean at one point people could pick up a rev 3 turbo for £1500! That was one hell of a bargain and I think unlikely to happen again. But if you want to see really insane price increases take a look at the 996 turbos. Those were as cheap as £1...

Re: Car wont start, turn ignition and all dashlight/electrics go out
Now here's a weird one, that hopefully someone has had before or can answer. Had a bit of spare time today so decided to do a bit of investigation. First checked all the earths in engine bay all seemed ok. Next nipped up to my mates and borrowed a crumper of a battery and a set of heavy duty jump l...

Re: Mk2 prices on the up......
I think the turbos are really selling for more. The n/a cars are in abundance still so I think will struggle to rise in value. Rev 3 turbos got as cheap as 1500 for a tired one at one point a few years ago. When I came to try and get another a year ago There were barely any for sale (and I was looki...

Re: Did some Mk2 models have 2 cats from the factory?
The Japanese turbos have only the main CAT. USA turbos had a secondary CAT as well in the b-pipe due to stricter emissions rules.

When you getting a build thread up fella? Hi Craig. Very much enjoying having a standard engine at the moment and loving not having to top up my oil all the time - in fact it doesn't use a drop (unlike my previous forged ones  ). But yes I imagine some more mods are not too far off the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Decat or gutted cat - turbo
KO racing did dyno tests at 18psi quite a while back that showed a gutted CAT yielded about half the gains of one of their downpipes. I think it was something like 4HP and 15ft.lbs torque increase on the gutted CAT.

Been meaning to give some feedback for a while but as usual life/work (mostly work ) got in the way. Dave painted my Border bonnet in 6m1 green. Have to say this is a difficult colour to match as I have had various shades of this over the years and I can only really say the painter got it right...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power FC on base map or Stock ECU? - Rev3 Turbo
Yes it's a basemap for 100 octane so it should be treated as a ballpark. On 99RON, off boost or even a few psi of boost it should be fine from my past experience. But obviously do so at your own risk. As mentioned you can use it as a ballpark but get it mapped for the fuel you want to run - whether ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Power FC on base map or Stock ECU? - Rev3 Turbo
The base map on the power FC is pretty good. The base maps were created using dyno time from what I read some time ago - so they aren't just numbers somebody dreamed up and plugged in there for the heck of it. But yes, obviously it's just to get you in the ballpark so get it mapped properly for the ...

Yes - I'm passing on the discount from not having to pay the paypal fees.
Otherwise it makes no difference to me whether it's cash or paypal as I am not a trader and this is my personal car as opposed to my business vehicle.

Stock Rev 3 turbo alloys with good Toyo T1Rs all corners
I bought a rev 3 turbo a few months ago that came with these alloys and tyres. They hold air normally and grip well. Tyres have approx. between 5 to 6mm tread and are Toyo T1Rs. Sizes are 225/50/15 rear and 205/55/15 front. When new these tyres on ebay would cost over £271 from the cheapest supplier...

On the PFC you can check for any sensors that are out of spec when the management light comes on by looking at the commander or a datalogit/laptop. The out of spec sensor will be highlighted. I don't know if this is the same issue as yours but I had a similar sounding EML to yours whereby if I accel...

Re: Remedying my boost creep. Advice please.
I do have an exhaust bung somewhere actually. I may try it, just as a temporary measure. On the subject of noise (I'm using a KO Racing R1 single exit), I am thinking of having a high flow cat welded into the downpipe to try and quieten it down a bit, but im worried about it affecting the readings ...

Re: Remedying my boost creep. Advice please.
I had a single exit 4" exhaust at the time and the way I experimented this was by having 2 different diameter exhaust bungs made up by Hayward and Scott to reduce the exhaust exit diameter. But similar in theory I guess to the restrictor plate. On my car it had a marked effect on the boost achi...

Re: Remedying my boost creep. Advice please.
If you are creeping to 24/25 psi you may struggle to control that even with an external wastegate. I had boost creep to around 20+psi with the GT2860rs even with a Tial 38mm external wastegate on my previous car. Although that turbo is a slightly better spooler than the GT2871r so your plan to fit a...

Re: 300BHP
There have been a number of cars on IMOC that saw 300BHP+ on the dyno running a CT20b with just stock ECU at around 1.2 bar of boost. So long as the ECU isn't detecting knock and putting you on the 'safe' map, 300BHP is achievable with basic bolt ons. There are several examples on the 2Bar tuning we...
