Re: Error 14? ECU or just ignition?
Sound like the Ignition Coil has packed up - its showing CEL when there is no signal 8-11 times in a row. If it is the coil you will be getting no spark which in turn will not fire the engine. Re: [Mk2] [NA] bit of advice with wheels and lowering
My friends 2 is lowered by 40mm with 18's on and the ride is abysmal to say the least. I was going to lower mine which is currently on 17's but if I do it will probably only be by 30mm and I might not bother as feeling every little bump makes my cry.

Re: floppy light
Take off the black shroud and top cover (4 screws in each) and there should be 3(?) bolts holding the unit in position. If I remember correctly there should be 2 visible when looking at the top of the headlight area (at the rear of the light) and one underneath the light unit attached to the chassis...

Re: Windscreen Wipers - Talk to me
Somewhere along the line my 2 has been fitted with extra long wipers so I now have a nice groove on the bodywork where the drivers wiper goes onto the bodywork. Any single wiper conversions out there? Lee *Edit: Just found this http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a=i&p=STMR22A&part=Toyota-MR2-...

Re: odd wheel looks off centre
If you can raise the front of your car so both wheels are off the ground, take both wheels off and use the good side as a reference to check the bad sides arms, suspension, trackrods etc to see if there is any bent parts.

My friend has recently taken his exhaust manifold off to do a few bits, however the numpty lost the bolts. Where could he get a set for a reasonable price?

Re: Just had sideskirts sprayed, but dont match- Azure blue
If you use the original paint code it will not match, as said above the paint will dull and age, even it still looks in good condition it will not be the same as when it came from factory (look under the bonnet for a better reading of factory colour). Some bodyshops have expensive equipment which th...

[Mk2] [NA] Alloy Lip Painting
Hi,
I am soon to be refurbing and spraying my wheels. At the minute they are standard silver and im going black with a red lip. My question is what is the easiest way to mask off the lip neatly, im not good at doing circular masking tape.
Is there an easier way?
Cheers oh wise ones.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] front numberplate
Police will not bother you if the plate is of correct size/style lettering and visible. (Asked one last night during the folling incident) Short story: Policeman wanted to know why my mates MR2 had no registration plates on it (he had just driven to and parked in a BP garage car park talking to me a...

It took me about 25 minutes to get the first one off mine as kept having to take more bits off to get to the one behind seatbelt. Second one took all of 5 minutes. Definately deep socket and just keep winding and winding.

Re: Seemly dangerous Overboost issue... anyone shed some light?
Is the boost controller plumbed in and working? Im pretty sure if you are bypassing the boost controller somehow it runs on unlimited boost (please dont quote me on this but sure I heard it said in conversation with a friend.) Also doesnt the ECU set itself to a 'limp' mode if too much air/fuel is g...

Is there a market for standard wheels though, obviously if there is no one to buy them its totally worthless task.

Ive just taken mine off and it wont be going back on. I was under the same impression as Starty and also to prevent stones pinging about underneath.
