Re: Hand Brake (how many clicks?)
Mine used to pull all the way up until the lever was vertical and hitting the centre console when I got the car!! Changed the handbrake cables and adjusted it to go up 4 clicks. The old cables were truly sh*gged when I looked at them! The cables inside were completely seized. It's nice to be able to...

Theiving scum nicked my lights!!!
There is nothing quite like the feeling of being robbed. Its a truly gutting feeling. No matter what it is; your house, your car, your stereo -it's the same feeling. And it's the feeling I experienced again this morning when I woke up to find some scumbag had just yanked out my Rev 4 indicators from...

Re: Exhaust Manifold on Turbo
Erm replacing the manifold on a tubby is certainly not a 5 minute job as you have to drop the turbo! Mines a rev 2 but I assume it's the same for the revs 1's? When I did mine I snapped a stud in the head which was a pain as well so beware of this if you do the job yourself. So the turbo has to be d...

Re: Oil Leaking from Headgasket....
I had this problem on a rover tomcat (the 220 coupe). Oil was pi$$ing out from between the head to block. What I'm about to say may seem strange (or perhaps it was just divine intervention!) but I put in a tin of oil stopleak or whatever it's called (a tin from autocare) and it cured it! The stuff w...

Re: fitting a decat pipe rev 1 turbo
No you can't fit it without taking the oil cooler off. First take off the oil filter, then undo the 30mm bolt that runs through the centre of the cooler (take car when replacing not to cross-thread as it's a very fine thread) and finally remove the two retaining bolts that hold on the cooler. Even w...

Re: Heat soak worries
Cheers buddy. Think I'll make one up to go over the manifold the same. By the way for the SPAL fan I assume it needs to be "push" as opposed to "pull"? Also would you get away with 6 1/2" as opposed to 7" as theres a guy selling a 6 1/2" SPAL fan in america? Cheers...

Re: Heat soak worries
yeah i thought about wiring up a fan but wasnt sure if it was worth it on a standard intercooler? Haven't got the funds at the mo for an aftermarket jobbie and the intercooler-fairy hasn't been too generous this year! Couldn't find any images in your gallery of the custom fibre glass. Am I just bein...

Heat soak worries
After fitting a 3" downpipe to my rev 2 turbo I'm convinced that I'm suffering from terrible heat soak. Obviously there are no heat shields around the downpipe. Also, I was going to fit a stainless manifold but decided against it (after taking the manifold out!) and now have no heat shields on ...

Re: Rev 1, 2 and 3 front bumper splitters
I'm not sure they are all completely interchangable. I put a rev 3 splitter on a rev 1 bumber and it took a bit of fiddling as the holes didn't line up. It is possible though. As for using Mr T- don't bother. Costs a fortune when you price it up with all the fitting kit (which you WILL need as I gar...

Re: Fitting Stainless manifold and downpipe tips?
erm whats ct 26 cut? Haven't heard of that before? Was told it was fuel cut as I lose boost as soon as it cuts and then won't allow me to boost again until I switch the ignition off and on again? What's ct26 cut? another safety feature?

Re: Fitting Stainless manifold and downpipe tips?
made a bracket up to retain the oil dipstick this morning and going to turn the boost down later today as i now hit fuel cut occasionally with the downpipe in. Probably take it down to .8 or something.
Have now got an ARC filter on the way! They're meant to be good aren't they?

Re: Am I hitting fuel cut off?????
cheers guys. Never checked the codes before so I'm gonna try it this morning and see what I get. Although I beleive it was fuel cut as the car drove fine again last night, and I've been told with fuel cut you can't boost again until you restart the engine. Thanks again

Why doesn't my MR2 backfire?
It sounds like such a boy-racer question, but out of interest is it generally a good or bad thing that a turbo-charged car backfires alot or very small amount? I now have a full turbo-back exhaust (induction kit going in next week hopefully) and running at 1 bar and my car barely ever backfires?? I ...

Re: Fitting Stainless manifold and downpipe tips?
Sorry to sound stupid, but what an EGT sensor? I didn't fit the cat temp sensor as the one was rusted beyond removal! Cars not running again now though as on inspection of the engine bay earlier the bolt retaining the oil dipstick has somehow sheered. Was OK when I put it in so don't know if the new...

Am I hitting fuel cut off?????
After fitting my downpipe the other day I drove my car for the first proper time today. Gave it some and when I hit around 5000revs i lost boost and power very sharply- just like hitting fuel cut off. However the engine management light came on at the same time (little orange one in the bottom left ...
