Re: Power Steering Fluid
Think I got quoted over £30 a litre was a while ago. Most brands of power steering fluid are about £6 a litre so quite a mark up.

Re: Power Steering Fluid
I dont know the answer and have always heard just go to Toyota, but its very expensive and Toyota dont make power steering fluid do they, I highly suspect it can be bought elsewhere at a lower cost if you knew the specifications of it.

Pretty much anything from luxurypart would be popular if it was from a UK supplier and could therefore avoid import costs and taxes. http://www.luxurypart.com/home/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=15&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=57 The rear wings, side scoops and front lip would al...

rear drop link nut
The rear drop links on the mk3 seem to be a common problem to remove, as the bolt part has to be held with a small hex key while the nut is undone. As a result I didnt over tighten the nut on mine and one has now fallen off. Does anyone know the specification of this nut so I can buy a replacement ...

Re: Our car, and a dilema .... thoughts please?
If you have never done a track day, why bother swapping cars for a more suitable one? Get this one on track and see if you enjoy it. No need for a tattier one, you know this one is reliable, get on track and enjoy it.

Its a rear diffuser I made out of some old scrap aluminium at work, based it on the design of a lotus Elise one. (yes have been asked a few times but dont mind). very easy to diy one.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Opinions on Carbon GT spoilers?
I liked mine at the time (a couple of years ago since I bought it) and to be fair I bought it largely for function to replace a very ugly rookie racing wing. But it did draw a lot of unwanted attention to the car, and probably was regarded as bad taste by many. I think it tended to look ok when on t...

Re: The 1/4 mile!!
4wd is better on a wet road but it will always be slower on a perfectly dry road. Regarding your launches, your 0 to 60fts are not bad but you should be able to get below 2 secs which will help your times a lot too. With your planned modifications I should think 12.9 or 12.8 would be very do able ma...

Re: The 1/4 mile!!
13.5 sounds quite good, for a stock car at standard boost. Fit a boost controller (manual one for about £20 would be fine) and set boost at 1.2 bar, this will get you into the high 12s with no further mods. Stock clutch will be fine for upto 300 fly bhp, and an mr2 turbo weighs about 1250kg to 1300k...

Yeah get a rev3or newer the performance advantage is really worth the extra (which in the grand scheme of running a turbo sports car is a very small amount more to pay).

Re: Roll cage (help please) shall i get one or not????
I had one in mine, made me feel a fair bit safer especially when I saw the results of a friends Supra that was rolled and he was very lucky to get out. My interior was not stripped out either, cage weights vary but will probably add 20kgs+. I would try and fit one with out or with removable door bar...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] my turbo 300bhp?
I think it making over 300 fly bhp has more to do with the dyno than the car sometimes; mine was well below 300 with all bolt on modifications at 1.2bar on surrey rolling road, yet my qtr miles times at santa pod were considerably faster than some people claiming over 310bhp with similar modificatio...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Opinions please - grill now bent up - fog removed. Pic
I wasnt too keen on the grill on my old mr2, but I thought it looked a bit bare with a single exit exhaust so this was my answer, made from about £10s worth of scrap aluminium.

Re: What's quicker, V6 mr2 or rev1 turbo??
At the moment v6s using the current camary engines are no where compared to even stock turbos. On the road the turbo still has more horsepower and torque everywhere in the rev range from 2500rpm upwards (no one cares about performance below this as its never used unless you are in the wrong gear...

Santa pod takes no skill really just work out the best revs for the start. (Even I am quite good at santa pod). Where as track driving takes a massive amount of skill and judgement far more than anyones whos only even driven on the road would realise. (Only done a couple track days and am very muc...

Re: What's quicker, V6 mr2 or rev1 turbo??
a Mr2 turbo any rev is quite a bit quicker than a v6 mr2 (isnt the rev1,2 the same thing performance wise). I have not seen a v6 mr2 even with modifications get any better than a very high 14 second qtr mile where as a stock mr2 turbo is mid to high 13s. A second or more over the qtr mile is a lot ...

Re: are stock wheels good for drag if a good tyre is on there???
Go and do some runs on your normal wheels, if you dont have any trouble on the road you will be probably be fine at santa pod for a few runs as it has much more grip than a normal road. I personally found worn tyres better than new ones at santa pod.

Re: Advan SA3R wheel help.
lots of jap wheels have these valves my enkei wheels did too. you can buy them on ebay (fairly exspencive though) but also lots of tyre places stock them as they are the same as old british motor bikes use (ones with wire crome wheels generally).
