Sorry to hear about your accident Kev, at least you're ok. Do you know whiplash injuries are worth about £2-3K....?

For value for money go for the Lotus exhaust. I bought mine for £15 from a dealership. It's almost brand new too.

You could always upgrade to a Mk1.5, best of both worlds :D All the info you need is in here:

Sounds good but as I posted in the events section:

"28th would be better as 3rd/4th June is Tatton and 4th June is also the Mk1 run to Brighton."

Re: DAN JUST BOUGHT A MK1

Hi Dan, if it's the one I'm thinking of then it's Paul Woods' Mk1.5, sorry at work and can't be bothered to check. He pops up now and again so will give you the full low down, but he's normally on www.twobrutal.co.uk . The headlights, although looked sweet weren't e-marked so weren't road legal. How...

Re: Mr2 Company Car

It goes off CO2 emissions now. I find it's better to take a car allowance if offered, although this is taxable at your normal rate...

All in here:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cars/

Apparently, the Elise is/was one of the lowest taxable cars to have.

Re: Motorway driving

Tis what its made for. When I used mine as a daily driver, I regulary commuted from London to Manchester for a period of two years. This was on average a 3 hour journey. Mind you, my legs were tingling even after I got out, from the constant engine vibration.

Re: Two flat tyres in the space of minutes...

Yeah, put it in preferably when tyres are new, but you use it in there all the time. If I can find the bumpf I got with it I'll scan and post on here. Basically when you get a puncture, a bit seeps through the wound and chemically bonds to the tyre sealing the hole. Totally safe, even for high speed...

Re: Two flat tyres in the space of minutes...

Well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. If they object that much I'll wipe it out myself. It's from a tyre supplier so surely they can't all object to it, though I agree some probably would. Rick, £40 seems a lot but, depending on tyre sizes you would get 2 cars done for that. Not bad peace ...

Re: Two flat tyres in the space of minutes...

Why would you need to change the tyre, it lasts the life time of the tyre. If, for whatever reason, the tyre is totally fooked then you need a new tyre anyways. Stays in a liquified gel form so you can just wipe it out. So good you can hammer nails into it then take them out without loss of air. Ask...

Re: Tubby owners - Do you use your cars daily?

Spent £28k on an SLK in July 04, used it every day as a commuter car and now done 68k miles. Hate to think of the depreciation on that....! One consolation though, work give me a £500/month car allowance and 40p/mile petrol allowance so I suppose overall I've made on the deal. Buy the car you want a...
