Rev 5 Mk2 Water in Drivers footwell. Car is Covered constantly!
Hi There I have a very odd issue. The car (Tbar Rev 5 G Limited) is covered with a Monsoon Car cover from Coverzone practically all of the time. However, i have noticed that water is gathering in the footwell under the drivers floormat. Its not like a puddle, but almost a condensation effect. If i l...

Re: Whine- Seemingly from Engine
Thanks for the responses! it'll be a new Alternator then. Looking forward to hearing the engine without the constant whine!

Re: Whine- Seemingly from Engine
Temperatures are fine. Noise stays same if you dip the clutch, however if you rev the engine when stationary the noise does increase with the revs.

Whine- Seemingly from Engine
Hi All My Rev 5 Mk 2, emits a whine that i had mistakenly put down to the Stereo interference (it still continued after stereo completely unplugged). It appears to be from the engine bay and i can only think it could be the Alternator. The whine is present from the car being stationary and driving a...

Re: Central Locking wont work on drivers door - Import Mk2
FYI, i managed to get this resolved. I bought the entire door latch for RHD import from MrMr2 on ebay for £22. Had to clean the part up a bit but managed to fit relatively easy. Central locking works like a dream!

Re: Central Locking wont work on drivers door - Import Mk2
I'm starting to think my issue is with the Door latch unit (black box).
If i take this off the door, is it serviceable? can i open it up and see if there's any hard grease or something inside causing this?

Re: Central Locking wont work on drivers door - Import Mk2
It could be a look connection or check for operation of locking arm. Where Two metal prongs attached to the unit
The lock and catch are fully operational when the key or internal lock is used, so the locking arm is fine. I hear a tick from the latch box when i ...

Central Locking wont work on drivers door - Import Mk2
Hi All I have a 1999 Mk2 MRE sw20 import and for a while now the drivers side door will not unlock with the radio button on the keyfob or alarm. Passenger side door seems ok. I have removed the drivers door card and replaced the microswitch with a new one (at the cost of £60) and this has not fixed ...

Re: Are uk 3sge's actually inherently gutless? And what about BEAMS cars?
Having owned two MR2's, a 1991 N/A and a BEAMS since 2004, i can absolutely say the difference in engine is very noticeable, especially as you get to high revs. Anyone saying otherwise has probably never driven one. Eats rear tyres though. In all the time I have owned it, i have never seen another s...

Offside McPherson strut top mount - Knocking Noise
Hi All I have a Rev 5 G-Limited with a knocking suspension noise. Just taken it to a garage who are suggesting to replace the offside McPherson strut top mount as they say it appears to have seized?? The cost of the part is £112 with £200 being the total cost with labour. Does anyone have experience...

Parked on a red route with plenty of tickets placed under the wipers.
Looks as though the car has hit the kerb when it was left, as the front splitter is damaged, hence why i think its been abandoned.

3 Mk2's in convoy, M25 Junction 13
Saw three Mk2 MR2's in convoy on M25 Junction 13 at 13:00 ish today. At the rear was a red mk2 (rev1 i think) with a white rear bumper, then a silver Rev 3 Mk2 and a black Mk2 one up front.
