Re: Seized brakes
The cables can suede but it is more likely that the hand brake mechanism on the calipers is stuck. With the hand brake lever down chock a front wheel the at the rear caliper tap or lever the calipers lever back away from the cable pull direction . You may be able to do this with grips but they can r...

Not starting. post HG
Background... I cooked the engine and blew the HG. The engine cut out before I reached an emergency layby and I believe that was due to melting the ht leads as much as the loss of compression from the massive hg failure. The dizzy cap also melted at one of the fixing holes. I took the head off, stri...

Re: To Shim or not to shim that is the question!
For the shims, if you means the ones the top and bottom of the pads sit in on the bracket, then yes use em. You can often give em a Todd scrub with a brass brush. You should only put copper slip under them to stop them Crusting onto the bracket. No grease on the whom to pad contact points as it coll...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Wiring ground confirmation
Can't look now but i'm sure my positve terminal is on the drivers side.
If in doubt take the battery/frunk liner out and follow the cable back as far as you can and you will find the negative bolted to the body.

FYI the part number you quoted is the pump without cover. Complete assy with cover would be 16100-79225

Re: Kph to mph
I just swapped a UK rev 1 Speedo into my JDM rev 1 and it worked fine. You have finger the rev 1 as rev2 onwards went to electronic Speedo. I also used the whole binacle as the UK tachometer has a security led that I used for my aftermarket alarm so I didn't have it in the plastics around the gear s...

Re: Turbo revival attempt
I should have also suggested another option.
If you have a selection of torx or spline bit drivers then I have had luck before hammering in one slightly bigger than the Allen size.
Alternatively using a dremmel undercut the bolt head at the washer to relieve the tension

Re: Door / Window Moudling Refurb
You can also get plastic adhesion promoter that acts like a primer but is clear. I did mine last year with the adhesion promoter followed by solvent based black followed by 2K clear. I masked off the rubber also and I was very pleased with the result. I will add that I have also done all the rub str...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rear trailing arm options - snapped vice
Run a wire brush on a drill or angle grinder in the exposed threads to clean em out esp into the top of the nut. Next try a chisel to break the 2 washers apart/away from the bottom of the nut or hacksaw to undercut the nut. Next heat up and then spray with penetrant (proper penetrant not just wd40) ...

If it's the same butyl stuff as the side windows a lot with some paint prep in it to dip a plastic scraper in to keep it wet. Remove the bulk of it like that then paint prep on a rag to wipe residue.

UK and JDM rub strips are different. UK sit proud, and the JDM ones are more flush. UK and JDM rub strips are different. UK sit proud, and the JDM ones are more flush. Correct answer. Same applies to the strip on the front wing before the wheel arch. Cheers for the replies but do you happen to know...

Re: Motivation/ now need help please
When changing the brakes flush the fluid for new. If you haven't already changed the brake hoses then inspect those at the least or replace with braided hoses. Same for clutch fluid, flush it through with fresh fluid. On the cobra alarm it will depend on the model but you may need the touch key and ...
