Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spot weld - what size drillbit

Once you have your sill ready to weld on you can drill the hole in it off the car with a normal 6mm bit (a pillar drill makes this super quick).
I think 6mm is better for the new plug welds.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spot weld - what size drillbit

I bought 6mm and 8mm. I think I used the 8mm to drill the welds on the sill.

Re: Dist end cam cap bolts.

I had this on an na engine i was stripping. I ended up taking a dremmel with a thin cutting disc and under cutting the head of the bolts to ease any clamping force, then cutting 2 flats on the side of the heads and using a spanner.

I had some 16x7 wheels on all 4 corners. I had 205 45 16 on the front and 225 45 16 on the rear and they worked a treat

Re: 4 wheel alignment specs rev 3 turbo

If done on hunters machine they should have the correct turbo settings.

That being said if you do a Google search for Dino's alignment settings you'll find some. I can't remember if they are on here or mr2oc

Re: Safest way to lock engine to remove bottom pulley.

Similar to the fist method suggested you can use a chain from flywheel or clutch cover to engine block. Have the engine well and truly wedged somewhere and very long bar

Re: Rev 3 Turbo clutch options - UPDATE, help?

I would suspect either contamination or glazed flywheel over disc wrong way round.
If the friction plate was the wrong way the clutch wouldn't clear

Re: 1990 MR2 Tyres

Camskill list them but not a great choice for the rears. This means you will have to get them shipped to you then pay to have them fitted but it means you keep the original alloys if that is your preference. If you are not fussed about the original alloys then a better option would be 16" or 17...

Re: 3S-GTE running strange

It may be worth checking for error codes doing the paper clip check http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/know-your-2.html?view=kb&kbartid=162 It may also be prudent to check the functionality of the ecu coolant temp sensor. If this perm reads cool then engine will over fuel which will be most apparent at lowe...

Re: Getting a 3rd gear crunch after changing clutch slave cylinder

If you get under the car and push the piston of the slave in as you open the bleed nipple, then immediately close the nipple before the piston is fully in. This may push out a bit of trapped air

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cam cover washers/ bolts

cant comment on the bolts other than no reason for them not to be ok, its the washers that are the most important thing to replace. The valve cover seals should be ok just make sure they are clean and grease free. Then make sure you use some rtv sealant in the cam cap corners a la the pic below http...

you could smear some vaseline on the ht lead where it goes into the rubber boot at the top and also around the boot where it meets the cam cover.
