Nooooo

On the way to Renault when it was at Llandudno as I had an oil leak after they changed the clutch.... A nice Golf Gti loomed up and I left him standing. Feeling all smug I slowed a bit. Suddenly the oil light warning came on and the oil pressure fell to zero. I swore but before I could stop the engi...

Supercharger help

Hello again, Go Here I have just received a nice old Supercharger engine and hopefully all the bits needed to complete the transplant. I've posted in here instead of Mechanical so I hope you do not mind! Questions: 1...

Re: living with the shame

8-[ I used to own a Renault 5 GT Turbo and boy did they go (Back and forth to the garage.) 720kg weight with a 7.2 0-60 speed with the top end suffering quite a lot. The Torque curve is nearly 90 degrees straight up! If it was not for the reliability problems and people constantly smashing them into...

Update

#-o Money has now changed hands and I am expecting an MR2 and SC engine to be delivered tomorrow sometime. Cool. Looking forward to it but in a 'I feel dread' way. Hopefully this will not take one year. It would be nice to have it in and nearly done by next Monday night but I would not expect that a...

Re: Mk1 MR2 Choices

Money has yet to change hands! I would imagine the 190bhp comes from the Fensport web page that thinks that 190brake is what you can expect with the extra pulley and engine. 'unsupercharged' did buy the engine one year ago so it might have the pulley and it might not. ](*,) I used to own a Renault 5...

Re: Mk1 MR2 Choices

:) Thanks all for the replies! I do have an EFI boost valve ready and waiting. 'unsupercharged' states that the engine is the 190bhp but I seriously doubt it as when asked he does not recall a different pulley being with it all. Soon find out! Will also be taking the car straight to the same guy who...

Mk1 MR2 Choices

Been thinking over the last few weeks if I should carry on with the Mk1 Mr2 as my previous engine rebuild went very wrong recently. :pr: 1 Other cars. The Honda Prelude 2.2 vtec, Nissan 200sx and finally the Mazda MX5. All nice cars and reasonable speeds but apart from the MX5 (Slowest car) n...

Re: Recon Engine gone! Boo hoo

Naaaa.... I prefer a few corners and turns. Remember a friend saying that he has never been in a car that goes round a roundabout and off again like the Mk1 does. My step father and a few others have said, wisely, that because I have brand new suspension and a Janspeed stainless that I should ...

Re: Recon Engine gone! Boo hoo

8) Already got a Janspeed stainless steel jobby on my car! Woohoo!

Still quite a lot of money considering that a Mk2 Turbo can be found for something near that cost. Will have to think about this one.....

Re: Recon Engine gone! Boo hoo

Thanks for the reply Lauren!

Only wanted to know the max speed as I saw an SC the other day that had some kind of mod that removed a limiter. Made me wonder what it was all about.

Yay to the pulley then and thanks for the money figure. May have to wait one more month then.

Me

Recon Engine gone! Boo hoo

:( The Bad: My recon engine has gone ticky ticky and I'm not going to get it fixed. I don't even want anyone to look at the thing. I waited one year for this recon to finish and now, four months on, the engine simply dies with a rattle. (Woud give more details but there is no point because........) ...

Rolling Road Figures

Hello,

Please, if possible, could you take a quick look at the results and let me know if they seem sensible?

I currently have an FSE boost valve and a Superchips Icon to go on!

Thank you!!
