Thanks all. Will reply with what Toyota state

Re: Ugghhh - Using oil
i would look at the new short block as pistons were revised in 2003 but the block was also revised in 2005 so making the 2005 engine the best. so getting a new short block will give you the best engine. the other thing you can do is give mattperformance on mr2roc a pm as he does engine rebuilds. Thanks Rogue. I'd prefer to stay away from Toyota where possible (Llandudno branch especially) as they seem to lick their lips when customers drive in and £££ signs appear. I emailed the guy in Manchester and he replied, 'We always rebore the block and inc new over sized pistons, therefore no more h...

Ugghhh - Using oil
Well... It looks like I didn't get to the pre-cats before some of the usual Mk3 things happened to the engine and thus it's using oil. (Originally the pre-cats were removed at 36k and it's now on 56k) So... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-MR2-MR-2-1-8i-VVTi-1ZZFE-1ZZ-1999-2009-ENGINE-RECON-SUPPLY-F...

May I start of by saying that my Optoma HD70 has lasted for quite a long time but once again, I'm afraid to say, the colour wheel has gone BooOoOom. I'll get it fixed but WON'T sell it on ebay. So off I went and grabbed myself a nice Optoma HD600X-LV (Not bothered with 1080p just yet): Here i...

My lady friend decided that she could make the slip road even though we had driven past the entry which ended up off ride driving, hitting a tree, which led to flying through the air (No free meal) to land on the roof. AWESOME! P.s. The engine ejected like one of those old Star trek episodes once we...

Fronts were perfectly fine on mine but when we replaced the rear discs/pads we found that the calipers were more or less stuck on (more on the drivers side)... greased the living heck out of the piston type thingies and put back on. It's the damn cable. So, when you're back there you might as well h...
