I don't take it too seriously, I just thought that it would interesting to compare Optimax vs. Ultimate when at the beginning of the year I couldn't get Optimax....
Usually I just fill it up 3-4 times a week and hope that it doesn't cost anymore than £100 a week.

Hi,
The bluetooth is one of the best bits!
The only thing I don't like is the brightness of the thing, here's a picture:
It's difficult to capture it in it's full retina-burning glory though.

My Ipod's in the small drop down compartment to the right of the steering column, it's almost as if it was designed for it - perfect fit.

Re: Anyone got a Pioneer DEH-P70BT and/or Pioneer iPod interface
Hi, I've got both of these, overall it's pretty good. The ipod adapter is easy enough to connect and works well. The big problem is the interface, it's just not as easy to use as the actual ipod. I've got approximately 5000 songs on there and navigation is a nightmare, eventually I'll create new pla...

Re: Quick warning... heater bulbs.
Hi,
I was just about to suggest replacing the stock resistors but Gtech beat me to it!
I also found that LED's did not give a very even spread of light for the background illumination. I've currently got some blue subminature bulbs to try instead, I'll let you know how it goes...

The large bulbs are 84999-10090 (2 required £3.79 each) The small one for the AC/econ switches is 84999-10310 (1 required £3.30)

Re: side strip part number
Yeah, I just hope they are the right parts, would be nice if someone else could confirm the numbers (even though mine are already ordered) I'm going to paint them myself, I remember there was a very useful thread started by Mr2Mania a while back when Dino was going to paint the trims on his car, lot...

Re: side strip part number
Hi Jay, I ordered some of these from Mr T a couple of weeks ago so hopefully these are the correct numbers (I'll know when they turn up!!) 52712-17060 (RH) 52713-17060 (LH) According to Toyota, these don't come body coloured anymore, only in primer. They were £28 per side, that's without the VAT. HT...

Re: Need help choosing components please
Hi, I have the Focal 165A, nice speakers but I'm not much of an expert. The tweaters will also fit in the stock location if you fasten them in with a hot glue gun. I needed spacers to fit main speakers in, which are easy enough to make from MDF, I also had to cut away a lot of the back of the door c...

Hi,
Is it still under warranty? A lot of batteries have either 3 or 5 year warranties....
Also, it should last more than 2 days, mine lasts for weeks without being used (basic model halfords battery). Sounds like something is draining it...

Re: Can I fit any CD changer to my current Toyota set up?
Hi,
Not sure about adding a changer but maybe you can fix your headunit. Have a look at this article in the knowledge base http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=10

Re: Where are the bulbs???
Hi, For the background illumination, there are three bulbs. Two for the main unit (which are the same type) and a different, smaller one for the background illumination of the AC/econ switches. You should be able to remove the bulbs without taking the unit apart but it may be easier to remove it fro...

Re: Where for service and repair's?
Hi Lee,
Alternatively, you could take a trip up to see Peter Gidden at sBits. Not sure where you are in Staffs, but it's only an hour from Stoke (about 60 miles) and it's well worth it.
I'm sure you've seen all of the "thanks Peter" threads, he's a top bloke.

Re: [Mk1 ] Magnex exhaust vibration
Hi, I had exactly the same problem with the magnex exhaust when I had my mk1, the vibration/rattle was somewhere between 1500 - 2000 rpm. I don't think it will be the tail pipes, it's far more likely to be an internal baffle. I also bought mine from fensport but in the end I was calling magnex direc...

Big thanks to Peter @ sBits
Hi, Just had a full bush kit fitted by Peter this weekend, I can't recommend it enough. I was a bit skeptical that it would make that much difference, especially after already having had new shocks, springs, top mounts, etc. However, it really has transformed the handling of the car. Also Peter is a...

Hi, If it's the toblerones that you mean, you can get away without taking the wheel off. Just turn the wheel to full lock so that the front off the wheel is as far in to the arch as it will go, then remove the bolts from round the arch liner. I think that I only needed to remove 3 bolts before the l...
