Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] fitting off this turbo???

Hi,

Not sure what you'd need to fit it, but the one in the ad doesn't look like a genuine Garrett one?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Pumpers of fuel! Bosch 040 vs Walbro 255 vs ??

I've been looking at this, it's a tricky decision. This site may help, don't forget when they are talking about supported injector sizes, they mean for 6-cylinder engines so adjust your maths accordingly. http://www.stealth316.com/2-fuelpumpguide.htm Tbh, even the supra stock pump looks better than ...

Hi All,

All PMs replied to. I've had several suitable offers but really it comes down to somebody putting the cash in my hand on or before Saturday.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure question

Thanks guys, The 20psi is after a quite hard run, it's about 70-80psi on a cold start and increases proportionately with revs when the oil is either hot or cold. The reason I wanted to check was that, as Nathan pointed out, pressure could be measured anywhere in theory and it's now 10psi lower than ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure question

Hi All, I've just finished moving my aftermarket oil pressure sensor from a sandwich plate to a T-Piece in the location of stock oil pressure switch. Before, with oil up to running temperature, the pressure was usually about 30psi but now with the sensor in the head it can be as low as 20psi does th...

Re: Revision 5 BEAMS - NOW SOLD

Hi All, Just a quick update, quite a bit of interest in the car via PM but it's still available at the moment, I've replied to all PMs individually. Inevitably, several people have asked what kind of figure I would take for the car, I hate 'for sale' ads that don't include a price myself!! I've chec...

Hi,

Yes, I did buy it from a squaddie in Tidsworth, I drive through there quite a bit. I think Simmo490 also saw the car.

Re: Revision 5 BEAMS

Regarding the price, any offers are welcome, it might be that the car is worth more in parts than as a whole, but I have neither the time nor the skills to break the car myself. As the insurance runs out pretty soon, I would like to sell the car as quickly as possible and if there is no interest I'...

Revision 5 BEAMS - NOW SOLD

Hi, As we've now bought a sensible car, my girlfriends MR2 is now for sale. It's a genuine Rev5 G-Limited BEAMS in Cosmos blue. It's an auto, but don't let that put you off, it's a pretty quick car when rolling! We originally bought the car with some rear-end damage, which has now been repaired. We'...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Air-Con question

Yea but I have the ultimate problem of my rev1 has had a rev3 lump dropped in, now was the compressor from the original lump or replacement lump? #-o Well, the EPC shows 2 part numbers one for rev1 and 2 and one for rev3+ so if you have a rev3 engine, you probably have a rev3 aircon compressor as t...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Air-Con question

My car is a rev3 and an import and Kwikfit regassed it no problem because it uses R134, have a look under your engine bay lid it should have a yellow sticker with either R12 or R134 on. IIRC, R12 was phased out in '91-'92 globally, so your car definitely should not be using it. If your car is using ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Air-Con question

Hi,

I haven't used one but they are quite expensive. Take it to kwikfit in Hanley they did mine a couple of weeks ago for £45 and if it doesn't make it 10 degrees cooler you get your money back.

Hope that helps,

[Mk2] [Turbo] Overheating - underfuelling?

Hi all, Having a bit of a strange overheating issue with my car... It only occurs when steadily cruising along on the motorway, if I'm doing 70 the oil/water temps are fine (but a bit higher than they used to be) anything over this and the oil temp rises exponentially and once the oil temp gets over...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] look what some b*****d did to my car

Hi Dave, Sorry to hear about car, I was at the scrapyard today and the wing off Lees old car is still there, it's inside the car so you wouldn't have to remove it. Seems in fairly good condition still, a few little scratches and a bit it pushed in slightly but should push out, definitely looks bette...
