That's looking great

Curious about your fuel setup, can you share a few details please?

Cheers,

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

How's the car feel with a modern turbo on it? I'd imagine that combined with a modern ECU and the other toys would transform the drive? 8)

Nice to see you breathing life back into another MR2

Mine is engine out as I add a lovely Garrett G25-660 into the mix plus various other bits! It really is the gift that keeps on giving

[Mk2] [Turbo] Any running T B DEV G25-550 turbo kit?

As title really... Looking for 400hp ATW for my track only car. Everything else - eco, injectors - is in place, just need to upgrade turbo setup. Like the look of the new G25 turbos thinking the G25-550 will get me where I want to be and my mapper agrees it will put me I the ball park. Impressed by ...

Re: sticky gear change

I have no intention ruining the business of the previously mentioned website who got the bushes in stock, but these are €3.XX +VAT from Toyota each...I just got off the phone with the local Toyota dealer (Hugh Boggans) Agree, it's difficult. I bought the poly bushes direct from BRD at a much lowe...

Re: sticky gear change

Looks-wise the RacerX kit looks ok, but that gearshift setup re-uses the major parts of your stock setup. The polymer cup is a wear item so you'd need to source a new one, otherwise a waste of money I'd have thought. The other parts that made a huge difference to my shifting were the metal bushings ...

Re: sticky gear change

I do just have a stock diff :) My wee shift bearings arrived today so hopefully get both jobs done next week at some point. Happy days - MT90 ,ay be worth a shot then. Personally I have just replaced the 'skateboard bearings' SBITs mod for BRD polyurethane bushes and the difference is night and day...

Re: sticky gear change

I am due a gearbox oil change so will go with that. Expenses aren't really something that I care about with the car anymore haha. Just whatever works :) Id definitely recommend some MT-90. Best price I found was JJC on eBay. bought a US gallon and had some left over Only do this if you have the sta...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Steering wheel wobble above 70

I have had this issue with two MR2's over a number of years! Each time thought it was a disc running out, each time turned out to be the hub flange / wheel bearing not running true. Swapping hubs and new discs cured the issue each time - so did changing the wheel bearing IF the hub flange was true. ...

Re: Project - Cosmos Eagle (New owner)

well super chuffed Lexus sensor works, £20 compared to £250+ very happy bunny can put a how to if anyone wants :-) Would be great if you did, that's a nice find. I remember years ago breaking an ABS sensor when removing it. They were mega-bucks but managed to speak to what I can only assume was the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Charge Cooler for 400hp

I run a Radtec Chargecooler, fits in the stock intercooler location and puts a quality charge cooler radiator right at the front of the car in the airflow. Works very well on track, superior to the ST205 setup that I ran that happily for years. The ST205 setup did heatsoak a little but that was help...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gear change feels stiff ??

I just had a similar issue when moving my track car for the first time this year. So much so that my gear lever would stick where it was and it wouldn't self centre... Turned out to be a combination of cable end bearings worn AND the metal bush in the pivoting the 'bell crank' being worn too. This i...

Re: removing the power steering?

I've done the same as Ashley on my MK2 i.e. removed the 'plate' from the rack itself. Dead easy to do. It makes such a difference to the feel of the steering on track, so much more positive and "connected".

Harder work in the pits, but worth the trade-off IMO.

Re: rear side window removal.

Not to be too contrary...but I've never had any problem removing the quarter windows. You'll have 3 screws underneath the vent and then 3 10mm bolts on the inside to remove. A thin/flexible razor sharp knife used from the inside will then easily cut through the mastic. You'll then need to pull the ...
