ah i see now, i just tested my i/c pipes post turbo whilst blocking pre tb. this way you can hear leaks (or you could spray soapy water on the joins). if you are just letting the TB butterfly hold the pressure it would leak out too fast compared to blocking the pipes at either end. i think thats why...
i did mine a while ago with a 12v, it'll easily get it up to the required pressure.
admittedly i didnt read the other how to links but i cant see why there would be a problem with a 12v

buddyclub go low too, my front wheels (17" 8j)rub on the arch liners on full lock but they appear to be able to go down another 40-50 mm! they are bone shakers though!
