Apexi power fc AP Engineering
This ecu will plug straight into a rev 2 and run with the AFM fitted
and only requires a map sensor (circa £75 from gtschris) and an inlet air temp sensor, circa £30 to run without the afm (recommended).

turbo hits?
I ran 17psi on my Rev 2 Carlos Sainz Celica for 4 or 5 years the CT26 fitted as standard had steel internals, when I had the engine forged I fitted a ceramic CT20b and found with the lighter wheel the spool was quicker, good mid range but seemed to run out of puff at the top end. You could buy my Ap...

Rev to be happy?
I have an AP Engineering Apexi power fc specifically for a rev 2
this will run with an AFM
but.....if you fit an inlet air temp sensor and map sensor (about £30 and £70)
it will run without an AFM
These are a pretty rare beast and give you options?
ECU is in the for sale section.

Blue Flame
My experience of Blue Flame
albeit on a Celica
is they start out quiet from new
but progressively the baffles rot/disappear and then they get noisy,
options being to replace a box or the system.

Unfortunately they present as having all 3 initially,
with time you would be lucky to end up with 1!

Are you not talking about retarding the cams?
Rather than ignition timing?
I have shed loads of ignition timing.

You also need to check the diameter of the ends that fit into the rail,
there are 2,
Which I have found out to my cost!
I think they are JDM and European?

AFRs'
Fueling computers used to be popular as a cheap alternative to fully mappable ECUs, but now that ECUs have come down in price there seems little point unless they are very cheap and you treat them as a quick fix. I have Apexi power fcs' on both my rev 2 and rev 3 but prior to this I tightened the sp...

Re: Fuelling
REALLY bad idea. Why? Because altering the fuel pressure affects the fuelling across the entire fuel map. You reduce the pressure to alter the AFR on boost in the top end and it'll screw the AFR everywhere else. It's like using a broadsword for removing someones appendix instead of a scalpel. It ha...

You need to set it up on a rolling road or run a wideband sensor?
This would give you the option of reducing fuel pressure which has been shown to benefit power and consumption.

Hello Alan
So the standard VSV would not work together with an aftermarket twin solenoid boost controller to limit boost in the lower 2 gears??

rev 3 VSV
Having done a little research it would appear that the rev 3 does indeed have a vsv to restrict boost in 1st and 2nd gears. Now.... I have a 48mm hybrid and an Apexi power fc together with a Blitz twin solenoid boost controller which is putting out around 300 bhp and similar torque. My car is a dail...

Do rev 3s' have a VSV valve to control boost in 1st and 2nd gears

Thanks in advance.

KO'd?
I am de-catting with a 2.5" pipe made by KO Racing Have used it on my rev 2 for 6 or 7 years and am now moving it to my rev 3. The exit from a CT turbo is less than 3"? a smaller diameter keeps the gas speed up? Subject to passing the MOT, which mine has you have extra free performance? St...

A connection for hands free calling was important to me,
plus iphone and memory stick etc
plus joystick control for all of the above.
Hopefully it will arrive next week?
