Re: Mk1.5 resto

Bloody hell, you've got stuck in! Told you there was some suspect "welding" in there, looks to be more rot than we knew about in areas but less in others! The ARB mount areas I had done whilst I had the car. Beardy did all that, so it should be ok! Think whoever had it before just had a bi...

Re: Which track days?

I'd def recommend Anglesea & Oulton Park, both brilliant circuits. Can camp on site at Angers or try local B&B's. We did Cadwell Park last time and that is fantastic, if a little doubting at first (we turned up in 20foot visibility fog with a light mist rain, 1 hour later & it was cracki...

Also check the bolt on it, have you painted around there, as the bolt holding it onto the car is its earth iirc

Re: Factory 5S FE in the UK.

Sounds like he's just saying cam belt & tensioner were done @ 91000, but car has done only 1000 in 4 years, ie, in 2009 it was on 100,000 miles. So belt is, at the minimum, over 4 years old plus 9000 miles....... Unless he's simply missed a "0" out and has done 10k in 4years.

Re: is boost gauge right or is something wrong?

I'm going to presume you mean 0.5/0.7 bar not psi, if so, and your car is stock, that's normal. The car runs lower (but actuator pressure) boost in first 2 gears, then iirc, 3rd onwards has an inbuilt boost controller which allows it to run higher boost (doing it this way allows the car to revert ba...

Re: What's it worth. mk1.5 MR2

Cheers guys, I'm am aware of the time scales, but I'm also working 10-12 hour days 5.5 days a week at the moment so finding time to get it ready for & MOT'd is hard. I'm not expecting it to be an appreciating asset as the £4.5k was clearly a joke! Rest assured, it will get sorted and be less tha...

Re: poly engine mounts!!

It's not uncommon to have that bolt ripped out of the gearbox. Best thing to do is either drill & helicoil if available or just drill & tap out to next size up & use a new bolt. (Will have to open up the hole in th mount iirc)

i think its probably more a case of the track regulars having broken or no car at all Well, they've not said. I put it down to Steve getting married, personally. ;) Pmsl! Ha, I've not seen this thread until now, I might've done this otherwise! Think we're going to look at Oulten again in the next m...

Pmsl! I've been doing a lot of ummimg & ahhimg about it & planning on what to do car wise. Plus the fact I'm working 6 days a week has meant I'm not getting any free or spare time to get anything sorted. I'm going to sort MOT out as soon as I get chance and get it advertised properly for £25...

The unread topics will show any thread that's had a new reply that you've not seen. It's all I ever use to browse the forum, when I hit refresh, this thread won't show until someone replies, then it'll be up at the top again ready to read!

Re: What's it worth. mk1.5 MR2

Good to see there's interest!!!

I'm going to get it MOT'd in a week or two & get the bonnet scoop either finished or blanked back off (prob blank off & refit solid bonnet.) Get it washed & polished and get it sold.
