Oil Cooler Pipe Replacement
Was in the process of changing my oil earlier today when I noticed that the pipes to the oil cooler are looking particularly ropey - the lower one actually appears to be dampm with oil to the touch. I vaguely remember a post a while back with someone (possibly Jimi?) saying they had managed to buy s...

Re: Mk1 Quaife quick rack
If you do damage the bearing getting it out, you could try taking it to a local bearing factor who might be able to supply you with an equivalent. A lot of bearings are standard sizes, so even if MrT don't list them anymore, doesn't mean you can't get one that will work. This is just an idea, as I d...

Re: Engine Stay for Mk1 SC
If you have no luck finding a second-hand one and modifying and NA one proves awkward, Toyota main dealers used to be able to supple them new. Can't remember how much it was now as a few years ago, but would be worth trying. Just make sure you have your chassis number with you!

Re: Moonroof Blinds
Hello again Stuart Hmm, am not sure whether mine is beige or light grey now... Will have to have a good look next time I go out  See from your wanted tread that your car is gold. Mine is a Sherwood, so the headlining could well be the same colour as yours - would go with the two-tone seats, wh...

Re: Moonroof Blinds
Hi Stuart, Do you mean the sunshade that clips in place under the sunroof/moonroof? If so, then yes, they are available. I think the Mk1bs came with a black headlining and sunshade, while the earlier cars came with a lighter coloured (beige) headlining. Mine is a late Mk1a and did come with the suns...

Changed headlight bulbs today
Just thought people might be interested to know that Halfords are doing two for one on their headlight bulbs atm :D Went for a set of the Super Brights at £14.99 for the pair as had a bulb fail yesterday. Are noticeably brighter :thumleft: Did consider going for the slightly dearer even brighter one...

Re: Windscreen Wipers
Bought some a couple of months ago from Mr T for around £10 the pair when I had a new screen fitted. Was pleasantly surprised at how cheap they were! Thought they would be really expensive (knowing Toyota), and only rang them for a price when my local Wilco said they couldn't supply ones that would ...

Reflective waistcoat in case you breakdown on a dark road, or even the hard shoulder.
You can get these for about £1 now (especially in £1 shops!)

Re: vinyls
Think that they're just stuck on/self adhesive. Just picked up my car this morning from having some work done and know that the body-shop have to remove some of them. They seem to have re-attached okay and don't look any the worse for having been taken off. I'd assume that a gentle application of he...

Hi Poser,
Have tried that, but still doesn't seem to be working for me...
Not ever tried to post images before, so not sure where I'm going wrong?
Hope someone can put me right!
Andy
PS Have taken your advice and added direct link to album

Rare Genuine Black F-reg Mk1 T-bar for sale (needs work) - now with pics!
Hi, For sale is my Black F-reg Mk1 T-Bar. As stated, this is a genuine black car, rather than one that has been re-sprayed black, as can be verified by the paint code on the chassis plate. I have never ever seen another one manufactured this late in black. Apparently, the car was a special order fro...

Re: Sherwood paint codes
Found the code on the chassis plate! The UK combination appears to be 2S8, which breaks down into 6H7 for the Jade Metallic and 4E3 for the Light Beige.
Thanks for your help, guys

Re: Sherwood paint codes
Hi Trev, Thanks for the link :thumleft: Just bit confused that two combinations of Jade/Beige are listed (2S8 and 28B). Can anyone confirm for me which is the Sherwood, please, as thought there was only one combination of these two colours. Mine is a very last model on a D-plate with full skirts. Th...

Sherwood paint codes
Hi there,
Does anyone know the Toyota paint codes for the Sherwood Toning colours, please? Am having some work done next week and need to pass them on to the bodyshop.
Thought I used to have a link to a colour chart/reference page for Toyota paint, but can't seem to find it now...
Cheers, Andy

Re: Replacing the Drop Links
See the same seller also sells rear drop links for Corollas/Celicas from the same era as our cars. They look very similar to your modified Fiesta ones. Does anyone know if these would be a direct swap/fit? Would same cutting and welding if so!
Good work though, and a useful money saving tip

Re: Clutch Problem (Hydralic)
Thanks for the replies and tips on what to look for. No idea when the fluid was last changed as only had the car just over a month. Do the slave cylinders tend to fail more frequently than the master cylinders? Did check the frunk area when I looked at the car, and all seemed nice and dry at the tim...

Clutch Problem (Hydralic)
Hi all, Have a problem with the clutch on my MK1a, which I'm assuming is the hydralics. When the car has been left overnight, or for a few hours, the clutch pedal (when you press it) sinks straight to the floor with no resistance. However, after a couple of pumps the pressure builds up again in the ...
