Re: [All] [Generic] Relocating a battery and the earth connections

Ah ok...sorted

So I will run an earth from the battery to the gearbox mount, then a short earth from the battery to the chassis by the battery :)

Thanks chaps!

[All] [Generic] Relocating a battery and the earth connections

It's not on the 2, but I thought I'd ask...if I relocate a car battery, the positive can go straight to the starter motor can't it? (if there's no other connections on the original loom)...but the earth.... My track car (Starlet turbo) has an earth on the engine mount, this connects (same wire) to t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Abflug wide arches

THat's the car...the one that inspired me to keep the 2 a while back and do a similar thing to it :)

I've had a sniff around and there's none about matey.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Abflug wide arches

Anyone still got shots of the kameleon painted MR2 from the US with Border bodykit? now THAT is a stunning car..and he has the wide arches, but just got the bodyshop to beat the arches out on his car..looks superb.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Abflug wide arches

Worth pointing out that the arches on that car ain't ABFLUG originals (I don't think so anyway). It looks like custom mods to the arches by a bodyshop there.

Once again Earl...the cheque is in the post :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

It cost me close to 10k to get 380hp at the hubs from my mr2...great fun but to me, in retrospect, money not well spent lol as now I want to sell the car and I'm asking less than that for the full car :( Another reason for cheap track motoring...buy an ep82, spend 5k on it (my budget) get around 300...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

Jon you whore...

I think budget is the key? Insuring/taxing/running an mr2 isn't that cheap...think of the ep, 1.3/grp 12 for a turbo/800000mpg.

ey?

ey?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

I can second that idea...small car, sorted chassis and brakes = p1$$ all over much more impressive motors.

That Reyland car is ace, was there demonstrator/loan car while they worked on yor car. Martin Hadland is a god lol. If I buy an Escort Cos at some point I'll be picking his brains.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

Now I don't want to offend any MR2 lovers here but... I can understand Marks loss of love for the car, great car they are but for a lot of people they aren't the 'ultimate car'...that you've always dreamed of owning? That's not how I became a 2 owner, it was because my old EP82 wasn't what I wanted ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

The 3SGTE does fit into the EPs tiny engine bay ;) I think that fitting a 3S though and leaving the car FF would be a shame, you should midmount it and make it RWD...or 4WD what a track car that would be \:D/ You did mean me right? too many Marks on here... Good luck Mr Edwards, I think your idea is...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

NA? N f'ing A? Edwards sort it out...get one fitted with 4e fte...turbo power. Tuneable pretty easily, many have over 300hp in the UK, I'm aiming for 300hp at the wheels on phase 2 of the project. The record is 450ps in Japan by a company called HRF, topped out at 297.3kph. Get one right and on the ...

Well without writing my 2 off, I may have a 400hp engine and other bits up for sale soon.

Feel free to give me £9000 or the region of that for the whole though Markyboy ;)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oh poo

Nice to see you joining the dark side Mark...take an EP91 or 82 (in my case...second one I've owned), strip it out, tune it up and it's a great track and road weapon..cheap to insure, tax and run :)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Using the Power FC on a different car!

Cheers for the answers guys...the SW20 FC that AP use or seem to use in Japan doesn't come with anything else...it's direct plug and play on the EP82...which is impressive

[Mk2] [Turbo] Using the Power FC on a different car!

I have a spare Power FC at home, intended for sale but I'm hoping to keep it and use it on my EP82 Starlet Turbo project :) The thing that's given me this idea is that like the rev1-2 MR2's Apex-i never made a Power FC for the car. AP Engineering basically produced a loom convertor and a remap? of t...

Re: Rev1 Vs Pulsar GTI-R

Well Charged... I'll reach that bridge when I come to it ;) My old starlet ran 210 at the wheels and with super sticky rubber it was manageable. I thought I'd moved on when I bought the 2...little did I realise that 6 years on, I'd be buying the car my mate bought back when I had a starlet  Uno...
