Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine Problems + vexed
There is no need to take legal action as I'm sure Sbits have their reasons for no contact. Additionally I'm sure they will do everything they can for their customers and to continue to uphold their name. The last thing they want is a bad name for engine rebuilds or lengthy repair times or repeat pro...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine Problems + vexed
rev counter appears smooth... but the engine is very lumpy I would say that thet HT leads and sparks were probably fine.. and changing a component if it is working properly isnt worth changing right? well thats my feeling on it anyway. On the weekend i will see if all 4 sparkies are sparking watch t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine Problems + vexed
:( 600 days... 365 days per year... and mine was 2 and a half years so that 894 days for me... I feel your pain... and exactly 5 days of running since I got the car back... only 5 days and its already bust. thats 0.0005% of the time.. not good odds. Hope your car works for more than 5 days lol Well,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine Problems + vexed
to be honest m8, with a brand new engine I would expect brand new HT's and sparkies. However, in Sbits defence he knows my skills and knows what I am capable of. So I wouldnt worry about that. He knows that i can fault find to a point. but im more concerened with the fact that if I had built an engi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Engine Problems + vexed
I understand your point.. but im not messing around with the car. I dont fiddle with cars.. i know how to repair them.. i simply dont have the time. anyway Sbits told me that the HT leads were ones they found kicking around the workshop and are clearly worn and questionable.. but would suffice. and ...

Good day all, I need some help. After less than 600 miles my brand new engine has ceased to function. (not a happy bunny
) Since I need the car to drive to work it is essential that it is fixed. So.. May I take the time to explain the problem in case anyone has any suggestions or ideas. So, whilst r...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What do you deem safe EGT's ?
I had an egt in the elbow after the turbo.
on motorways it showed constant 800 degrees C. never showed any problems...
but be careful mounting before turbine....
if it degrades,.... which it will done day.. it could snap... then all your nice blades come out the exhaust...

Depends on what version you have m8.
If you post in Mechanical more people will see your post.
It could be your cold idle sensor.

Bender Unit is right.
I have some aerospace gauges monitoing my lump.. when the has been warming up (ticking over for 10-15 mins) im seeing 60-70 degrees. when hard driving its slightly over 85 degrees.
Plus mine is a completely new engine. Only done 500 miles

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Intercooler fan
Mine comes on when the engine bay gets to a certain temperature.
check the sensor on your engine lid is working.
unplug the sensor and the fan should come on.... although it could be fan failure

hmmm, if its a sony (and installed correctly) it should put the aerial down if not listening to radio... for any other operaions it should be firmly stowed automatically...
