Re: Taking delivery of a Haslbeck Mr2

Re: Removing Weight From the Doors
You could save 7kg with these carbon t-bar panels: http://twitpic.com/7h25w9
Has anyone tried these?
The website for the guy who makes them is: http://pl-performance.com/products.shtml
He does carbon boot lids aswell. Not sure about prices.

Re: My new MK1
Eurocarparts had a sale on this weekend so I ordered all the belts, plugs, filters and fluids I needed at a big discount. All I need now is a water-pump (might as well change that while I'm doing the timing belt) and a waxoyl kit. I was thinking of doing the waxoyl job myself, is it a straight forwa...

Re: Taking delivery of a Haslbeck Mr2
I really like this, I didn't even know they existed! Kitted mk1s usually don't appeal to me at all, but this does look cool. If you restore it to mint condition then you will have something pretty special and rare.

ht leads
Budget ht leads are about thirty pounds from tcbparts - link below, just scroll to the bottom of their page for aw11 parts. I used these and they were fine. http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/ Otherwise if you want fancy ones then go for magnecors, which is what i have now. £54 from http://www.larkspeed.com/...

Re: My new MK1
Thanks everyone. I'm really happy with it. Even the engine bay is spotless. The mileage is 85k miles. It's got full mot, new battery, tyres and brakes but I would like to get the belts, filters, plugs and fluids all changed as that many years in storage means a freshen up is required! I got it for a...

My new MK1
Hi everyone, i have bought another mk1. This time a red t-bar n/a. I think this is my fifth mk1. Ive had a couple of SC's and a few n/a's all in varying conditions. My last one was a white t-bar which blew its HG just after JAE! This one has been stored for around 12 years so will need some servicin...

Re: HG woes
He's not on here but i told him about the forum. He did not reckon much on the SC lights and did not know they were non standard, just wanted the standard ones so you could probably get them as a swap for the originals. Same with the wheels. Look out for a new member with a white mk1 from Beaulieu.

Re: HG woes
Yes it has. The guy who bought it is going to repair it, then return it to factory standard. I wouldn't have felt comfortable selling it to a breaker, its far too good for that. I will no doubt buy another mk1 soon!

Re: Rear wheel arches cost?
Where abouts are you? I had all four arches done on my first mk1 by a bodywork specialist in kent and it was under £1000. That was 10 years ago though!

Re: HG woes
I notice your car us actually for sale? Are you not going to keep it? Well, its was up for sale on here and ebay before the HG went. I thought it was the best thing just to sell it off cheap but now i have been offered help to fix it i would love to save it. However, if someone offered the asking p...

Re: HG woes
You shouldn't have any problems with the engine, since if you get the wrong engine you can use the injectors and ECU etc out of your original engine anyway. The main differences between the two engines is these two points. Ok, thanks for the info. You're right, there should be enough bits and piece...
