Re: Rev 5 Ltd Edition Bronze?
I know this is an old post, but would just like to correct some obvious errors. I have a Mica Orange MR2, T Bar which is a UK Spec car. It's Reg Date is March '99, and here's a pic of my Baby: Care to post a photo of the VIN plate? That'll put the whole thing to bed - would show factory colour and ...

Pump on mine turns off if the wheel is not touched for a short period of time. Every SW20 I've had with PS has done this.

Services like Imgur make it easy. You can generate codes for a whole batch of images in a few clicks and just copy paste them over.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Gearbox oil for Rev1 n/a?
Manual says 2.6L IIRC for S54 (3SGE) transmission, so 3L should cover with some left over. Turbo takes just over 4L.

Any good quality GL4 will do great. MT90 is one such example.

Its more likely to leak with a cork gasket than without.

The sensor is a separate part, held in by 4 bolts - I guess if you can replicate the mount on the new one it would work?

Yes the Amayama one and Megazip one match the European PN, which will have an oil level sensor. Japanese market ones do not.
I guess Toyota thought the European market would not check oil frequently enough, but the Japanese market would? Who knows.

Double check the PN, they are still available via Megazip and Amayama, though both of those services do not always have 100% accurate stock levels as they are referencing third party warehouses. This is for 1991, 3SGE, European market: Source for PN: https://www.japan-parts.eu/toyota/eu/1991/mr2/sw2...

Re: Why are MR2 Turbos still undervalued?
The car doesn't have European or American racing heritage - JGTC was not followed much outside of Japan. The Celica is an interesting one that shows that its not all about pedigree of the specific car. ST185's are pocket change compared to an Escort Cosworth, despite the fact that the ST185 won the ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Link ECU mapping - South East preferably
Easy chaps!
Any recommendations for Link ECU mapping in the South East / East of England preferably? Will travel anywhere in the UK for the right company but closer to me the better.
Gen3 3SGTE with bolt ons, possibly 800-1000cc injectors by time it goes for mapping, we'll see how we go.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] when cat fails? and u can't get replacement part?
M plate turbo or older doesn't do CAT Test, not in Great Britain anyway. You could likely get a CAT section made up to fit your car but ££££££'s unknown 3 inch sports cat can be had for around £100-£150, £80-£100 for a chinesium decat downpipe, another couple hundred for someone to chop it and put ...

Actuator differences - CT26 vs CT20b
Hi all,
I've read conflicting information on this - are there any physical/mechanical differences between the CT26 3SGTE variants (gen1 and gen2 are different turbos), and the CT20b actuators? I'm not too concerned about different spring pressures, more on fitment, rod shape / size etc.

A good custom exhaust shop would be able to put a generic cat in for you. Re: Oil in Spark Plugs :(
It looks more intimidating than it is. The 3SGE inlet manifold is a two piece design, if you remove the ACIS cover you will see some bolts inside there that join the two pieces together. Remove those and the top half will lift off. Be sure to cover the 4 inlet runners before continuing, you don't wa...
