Re: [All] [Generic] Carputer Guru Anywhere?
The HDD is running when the car is moving yes? Continuous vibrations, knocks and bumps to an operating HDD WILL reduce its life, which is why I wouldnt use one in a car.

Re: 1997 Rev.4 MR2 GT T-Bar N/A
Cheers - yeah, it does get dirty very quickly! Car isnt in the best state now, slowly working at getting it back to decent condition again - had a bit of an argument with a tree a couple months ago :( Will look a lot better in a few weeks time once right hand side of the car has the dents pulled and...

Vibrations, bumps and shocks aren't good for a running HDD.

Meko, it is different to leaving a laptop in the car overnight, as said laptop would be switched off.

[Mk2] [NA] Janspeed exhaust and catalytic converter (or lack of)
Hi guys My car has a Janspeed twin exit exhaust, and is also decat - its a 1997 so i very much doubt its going to pass emissions at the MOT in a month or so. Do I need to get the Janspeed cat, or will a stock MR2 cat fit? If the stocker will fit, does anyone have one they want rid of, or will let me...

Re: 16" rims
5 x 114.3 PCD, and the centre bore is 60.1mm I think - best check the KB on here or MR2OC to verify that. You can get wheels with a larger centre bore (IIRC, wheels designed to fit Skylines have larger centre bores) and use a spigot ring to reduce the bore down to the right size. If you get wheels w...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] I NEED HELP!!! NO STEREO.. DRIVING ME MAD!!! :)
You would need 2 pre-outs, or rather 2 pairs of pre-outs.
Have a look behind the seats in the boxes at the bottom, do you have a woofer each side?
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If your HU only has one pre-out, you could use an RCA splitter
(Y cable) but you would lose the ability to fade from front to rear.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: [Mk2] [NA] I NEED HELP!!! NO STEREO.. DRIVING ME MAD!!! :)
I have no experience with the active system, so I am not entirely sure what is supposed to be there and what is not.
Have a look at your loom, does it look like any wires have been cut, joined or spliced at all?

Autoleads PC2-17-4 is the correct adapter for a non-active system.
Looking at the pins on your harness there, it looks like you might have the active system? ![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

UK spec, and looking at that its not the active system.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

When you say it didnt work, do you mean the HU just didnt power on or the adapter itself did not fit?

I do miss feeling the LF's sometimes, but for me I would rather have the space behind the seats for the T-Bars, especially if my euro road trip goes ahead this summer!

Unless you want to be able to feel the low frequencies, a setup like that is perfect for a small cabin like the MR2.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
