Re: Aero or normal wiper blades?

Haha mine always lifted at 65mph so when on a motorway in the rain id be sat in the slow lane at 55-60, this did not amuse me much. I got some of those aeros fitted and problem solved! Only get lift around 150 now lol. I think new springs would be a good idea aswell just never got around to finding ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] timing belt what do i need

And I'd replace the idler pulleys too. It's not to hard just take time over it and I'm sure you'll be fine. Oh and yes it's the same on rev1 2 and 3

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] timing belt what do i need

No need but best to dab a bit of paint on the tooth and cam cover to mark the positioning and make sure you do this once you have turned the crank to tbc, on thecam cover back shield you will see there are indentations to help align the markings up. The water pump is definitely advisable and check t...

Re: Air filter/Induction kit

I chose the blitz sus power intake, cost a bit but seen them second hand priced reasonably

Sounds good, easy to give a clean occassionally but low maintenance. Also it looks great and hopefully flows easily according to reviews.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost pressure question

And make sure its 99ron either tesco momentum or shell V power.

Fwiw I ran my rev2 turbo on 14psi with decat pipe, custom 2.5 inch exhaust, airfilter and tvis and vsv disconnected and STOCK intercooler for a number of months. Still worth upgrading the standard one though.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] altenator

Have you voltmeter checked at the battery when running and at the alternator plug on the 3 pins when just ignition is on? Should obviously read 14v to 15v at battery when engine running if charging. If not check all 3 pins earthing to block or chassis and ignition on. Hopefully get around 12v from e...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Manufacturers still selling 43-46mm boost gauges?

Shinny I know your handy with electrics, do you think it would be possible to swap the back light on the rspec to blue? By led change? Obviously this would void the warranty though.

Sorry to hijack slightly

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Squeaking noise? mk2 rev2 turbo

Drop links going maybe, is anything rubbing in the engine bay?
Like intercooler pipes?

Where is the noise coming from the front/rear?

Re: Is the TVIS plate made of steel on a rev 1?

The majority of people ive seen discuss this topic just gut the tvis or fit a blanking plate.

IIRC it wont open in first gear anyway because the standard rev2 engine does not fully boost in first gear, so second gear......onwards?

Re: Norwich, Norfolk meets? or interst in arranging some?

Yea seen a couple on the RAF base and they hold a track day on the airfield twice a year. It's a good day and the back straight is a mile and a half long! I backed off at 170mph and lost the bottle but potential to test your top speeds there. It was an absolute deal at £50 for the day. I'm thinking ...
