Re: [All] [Generic] Very competitive prices found at this website...
£79.50 plus post, then possibly taxes due to customs.. not the bargain of the century, but not too bad i guess. I've seen the site, but never purchased anything. I think they are genuine.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Long term test . . . . Berk Technology Exhaust (Turbo)
The performance is great, sound and look is also fantastic. Your mate is correct about the discolouring. They obviously used lower quality steel to keep the price down and it shows. You really have to keep the tips clean or they discolour/rust. The merge collector area also discolours quite badly. T...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Take a look at this gearbox.. leaking?
Hi all, just got this gearbox from GTSChris. Its supposed to be from a rev4 turbo and has what was advertised as (and looks like) a trd diff inside. However when i examined it the casing looks stained with oil around the lower join. Now chris says the box was fully roadtested and is fine, but i've s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Berk flexi downpipe problem
GTS Chris's page for the downpipe has a drop-down to select rev1/2 or rev3 version.. i assumed it was available already.
I might consider getting one at somepoint, am yet to hear of any feedback on them tho..

Out of interest Luize, did you get the correct revision one? As i understand it Berk to one for rev1-2 and another for rev3 onwards.

Yes, the effect you describe would be caused by an open diff. I thought tho that LSD was standard on the rev3 turbo?

Re: [All] [Generic] The modifying scene in decline?
Well lets take your points in order Modern car makers deliberately make their cars more and more difficult for the average grease monkey to work on these days on a newer car you cant even change your own spark plugs! A money making scam to ensure all servicing is carried out main dealers, or a re...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Hux racing big brake kit
If you've got 2k to burn why not get hispecs? You could get a full car kit for that, they're pretty well proven and have dust seals on the pistons.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox oil for a TRD diff
Nathan, Spoke to Guy at opie oils again. Sounds like they are both (MT90 and silky) suitable for our gearboxes, the advantage that the silky has is that because it is also GL5 it can be used in front engine rear-wheel drive differential casings as well as gearboxes with differentials like on the MR2...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] caliper nuts off, free`d all pistons yet a slight bind still
Well i've just disasembled my caliper from the carrier. The copper slip that i put on there as a quick fix 2 weeks ago because it was sticking had gone hard and very sticky.. not good! Cleaned it up and put on the caliper grease i got from MRT, which is very heavy stuff.. reassembled and it was fine...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox oil for a TRD diff
Nathan, thanks for the info. I told him the following; MR2 Turbo TRD diff Heard that MT90 was recomended, but wasnt sure what was best He said that as the diff is in the box on an mr2 it would be designed to work with gearbox oil. Hope he's not wrong because i've just bought £40 of the stuff... Whic...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gearbox oil for a TRD diff
Well guy at opie oils reccomends redline MT90. Says you need 3 quarts to fill. I'll give it a go and see how i get on without any friction modifier..

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] caliper nuts off, free`d all pistons yet a slight bind still
I've been going through this recently- i've purchased some slide pin greese from Toyota because nowhere else seems to sell anything suitable. £20 for a 'large tube' I had bodged it with copper slip, but that seemed to only last for a few weeks and then started sticking again. I also picked up a new ...
