Re: [FINALIZED] '91 Rev1 UK MR2 White Sunroof/MOT+TAX/Cambelt Service/New Rad

If the car sells without 'em for £795 then they'll be offered for sale separately - RRP is around £180 each for the all vinyl models such as these, but I'll offer them for less obviously.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] throttle response slow

looks like all it needed was the tension on the accelerator cable sorting - much better now :)

How would I check the timing? It's just recently had a cambelt service

[Mk2] [NA] throttle response slow

Hi, I don't know if it's the usual characteristic of the na rev 1 3SGE engine but when I stomp on the throttle the response feels slow - almost as if the revs ramp up slowly instead of being immediate (almost like lag on a turbo) . When I take my foot off the accelerator then revs go down slower tha...

Re: overheating at low speed saga :(

Right. It's all done now and has been running perfectly the whole week: fitted new thermostat; rad cap; new radiator; new silicon hoses on the rad; and new temperature fan switch; and filled with Shell coolant.

Fan comes on now when left running. Top result.

Thanks for all the advice.

Re: weird crystal stuff in coolant system

I've only had it a few months but it was laid up over winter - I have another post about the overheating issue I have that I'm in the process of resolving.

Is there anything I should add to to the coolant system before, or while, I flush it with good clean h20?

weird crystal stuff in coolant system

I found this weird sugary stuff in the thermostat housing - I'm presuming it's crystalised coolant of some kind and is lurking in the various channels in my engine... http://gallery.mac.com/dvoutlaw/100324/IMGP2649/web.jpg Interestingly it was only accumulating on the back of the Thermostat and on t...

Re: overheating at low speed saga :(

I ran the '2 for a bit to get it up to temp and to see if the fan came on. Nada. I let it stand then opened the two bleed valves in the frunk and air hissed out! I did it a few times after starting the car each time and running for about 2 minutes. {I also took off the oil cap to see if there was an...

Re: overheating at low speed saga :(

Yeah JDM-MAT I'll flush the whole system when I pull off the old radiator. That should make it easier to flush everything out. I've taken a look at the radiator cap (mine has a yellow) decal - it's pretty perished on the rubber seal, so on your advice Fourveesix I'll replace that too. I'm not actual...

Re: overheating at low speed saga :(

thanks JDM-MAT - did you flush the system with a water from a hose and some engine flush?

The expansion tank is pretty dirty - it could certainly do with a good clean
