Re: Megasquirt standalone ECU. Thoughts?
I am just about to install a megasquirt 2 extra built by phil at extraefi.com. It has 16x16 ignition and fuel mapping. I am using 1zzfe cop and deleting the distributor and rotor. It deletes the afm and uses inboard map sensor with barometric compensation. I have it controlling my water/meth injecti...

Re: limits of a 3sgte
So after all your advice I've ordered an AEM water/meth kit.
It's got the new type pump.
This is just for safety and a little performance gain.
Any advice guys?

Re: limits of a 3sgte
Well I am a little gutted now as I've found out the aem fic only allows ignition timing reduction not advance.
Is it still worth getting a water meth kit installed?

Strange that because that's the exact system I was looking at last night.
It does look good and high quality.
Where have you guys put the spray?

Re: limits of a 3sgte
Is anyone running water/meth injection on here?
So you are talking about direct port injection bob? Would that mean jst t'ing of 4 ways and having one controller.

Re: limits of a 3sgte
So bob I have been doing a bit of research and it seems the best way to reduce or prevent detonation is to install water/meth progressive kit. This means I can raise the boost and advance ignition without det occurring? Is this correct? If it is right how much power could I achieve do you think? I'm...

Re: limits of a 3sgte
That's what I'm asking bob, mapping it well to keep temps spot on, I always run shell vpower or nitro what ever its called now. I guess water injection would be next. I'm running a ct20b stage 2 turbo. The afr's are still rich at 17psi (10.8 ) and the injectors are maxing out at 83 %. The aem ecu ha...

Re: limits of a 3sgte
well i have been busy recently trying to turn the car into a track car. I have installed a rev 2 3sgte into a celica st202, i have installed a rev 3 head gasket, serviced the engine, 60mm alloy radiator, massive FMIC, AEM FIC piggyback ecu mapped by Jdmodified, 40 litre fuel cell, 305lph fuel pump, ...

limits of a 3sgte
hi,
i was wondering what the limits of the 3sgte are without opening the block up and forging? so.
.
.
if you had a really efficient fuel system, standalone ecu, big injectors, bigger turbo.
what could the internals take if detonation could be kept at bay?
food for thought??????

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is a rev1 turbo head gasket good for 1 bar?
I understand that as long as the gasket has sealed correctly then there should be no reason I need a better one.
But because so many have said its a wise move I have ordered one in.
Don't want to risk it really.
Thanks guys
Matt

Thanks guys

[Mk2] [Turbo] Is a rev1 turbo head gasket good for 1 bar?
Hi guys and gals,
I have a head to replace and was supplied with a rev 1 HG with the recon head.
Are these good for higher boost? Not going higher than 15psi.
Cash is low but if there is someone that does them cheap I'll have a rev 3.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Any tips on changing valve stem seals?
Ok, so I've just gone out and removed the hose from the crank case and it stopped smoking. There was condensation in the hose that I can only guess was cauaing a lock in the pipe that causing a vacuum. It seems ok now. I'm really confused. My catch tank is fixed slightly higher than the engine top, ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Any tips on changing valve stem seals?
I have already cleaned the pipes from the inlet side because a mate had a problem like this when his intercooler was full of oil.
The turbo is second hand but is a turbo technics that was rebuilt only a few thousand miles ago.
The return pipe sounds interesting! I'll be checking that.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Any tips on changing valve stem seals?
Cheer bob, I did take the breather pipe off last night when I rev it there does seem to be a very fine mist puff for a brief second.
No oil residue that I can see or feel? But smells oily! I'm confused?
