Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Eprom No 42
You Sir are a star and a scholar! I have been sitting here with my head in my hands since your previous post as I had spent quite some time researching what rev my Tubby was so as to not look a knob when posting on forums or buying parts! Using various resources I had come to the conclusion it was a...

ball joints
You're hitting the wrong bit! You don't hit the thread, you hit the arm itself where the taper sits in. get a glamorous assistant to apply leverage between the arm and the ball, hold a big hammer against one side of the arm and hit the arm right on the taper seat with a smaller hammer. It will pop r...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Eprom No 42
I'm getting a 4-2 warning from my EMS which seems to make sense as thats a no speed indiacator and my speedo drive has just broken. Thing is, I'm probably being a plank here but, my rev 2 tubby has a cable driven speedo so how does it know the speedos packed up? Is it using the force or is the probl...

Re: MR2 Mk2 Tubby to South of France
doing something like that is defo something I'd be interested in, got a week of coming up in sept and usually do a week long driving holiday in the uk plus the usual foreign holiday, but havent managed to do one this year, keep fancing the 'ring but something like the above would probably be a lot ...

Re: Has anyone got this clutch?
I would be very dubious about using this product, if its not as described it could well be just a conventional single plate clutch cut in a wavy patern and painted blue. In my opinion less clutch for more money. The company has some poor feedback relating to quality and have a low feedback count. Ev...

Re: MR2 Mk2 Tubby to South of France
nice run, i would be interested on the route if you would be so kind. :thumleft: I will get up a more detailed route when I have time but in short we took the Chunnel to calais then the most direct route down as far as Gap where you then follow the routes de crete through the grand canyon du Verdon...

Re: Girlfriend drove my 2 last night
My Mrs said to me last year, "can I use the MR2 to take my Mum into Cribs Causeway for the day?" I said, "the proper grammer is; may I borrow the MR2?" So she said (through gritted teath) "Ok, may I use the MR2 to take my mum to Cribs Causeway?" To which I replied; &quo...

My nemisses drives an ST. With a spirited driver at the wheel, they are surprisingly hard to keep up with in the twisties but a tubby should be able to see them off on the straights

isn't it poop or death! either is not a good marketing ploy though!
I will remember that one though, next time a Frenchman asks if it's a Ferrari, I shall reply; no, it's a poop!

MR2 Mk2 Tubby to South of France
Just got back from a tour of the South of France, 3 thousand miles in 14 days without a hickup From Chard to tunnel, then Routes De Cretes down to Nice, taking in the marvelous Grand canyon du Verdon and mountain roads as deserted as they were dramatic. If there is any interest, I will post up some ...

Re: Longer wheel studs
I also bought the studs off ebay, had to drill all of my hubs out to take them as they are a fair bit chunkier on the splines. They are good tough studs though. If you've access to a compressor and windy gun, thats the way to go to draw the studs in. As has already been said; fitting the disc or bet...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Comma semi synthetic 75/90?
Thanks to both of you for the advice. I will go with the Comma then, as you say, got to be better than what's in it and full synthetic wasn't specified when the box was new. Thanks for the kind words. I adore my Tubby and it's not pretending to be a Ferrari despite the tongue in cheek prancing goat ...

Tyres
Another problem! I am running 205-40x17 fronts and 245-40x17 rears my tyre depot is having trouble finding matched sets. I currently run Verdesteins but they no longer stock the same types in both sizes. Falkens so far are the only option. I am a bit iffy about Falkens as I've always considered them...
