Re: Shane's Red Rev 3 TTop 2jz vvti 6 speed manual
Not much to update. Getting closer to sending it off for wiring and mapping. Still not sure when, still to decide on ECU. Purchased a brand new 3.4 stroker gte bottom end, SRD are now putting a brand new vvti gte head with the upgrades they normally do, bit of exhaust porting aswell. The engine is b...

Re: Shane's Red Rev 3 TTop 2jz vvti 6 speed manual
Managed to use some corner weights, quite happy as 95% of the cars components are in place. Main thing missing was oil and coolant.

Re: Shane's Red Rev 3 TTop 2jz vvti 6 speed manual
So ive updated the title as its fairly official now. Ive not released any videos and only a couple of pictures as teasers. Im planing on making the 2jz run about 700 or 800 whp. Will end up mainly a straight line car, however looking at a 50/50 weight distribution on the mr2. Engine and gearbox are ...

Shane's Red Rev 3 TTop 2jz vvti 6 speed manual
So im back. Been looking around for months for a project car, was tempted to go RX7 but the 10k outlay with bodywork required seems expensive. So ive picked up a rev 3 NA Auto, Looking at its mot history it has been well kept, something went on in 2006 probably when it was imported? Mileage was rese...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo choices
The g25 660 was a good turbo. Small ar would have saved 300 rpm maybe. Egt were fine even without meth at 1.6bar 440 whp. Circa 700 degrees. I would expect to see 1.9 bar at 4500 but to be honest I think you would kill something or run into problems with the torque being in so fast. Progressive boos...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.
Good luck mate don't think it will be an issue when you can rev it out. From 1st gear to 5th going to the limiter you will be In the boost through the gears so it won't be slow. However wanting power pre 4k rpm is something these little 2 liters do not produce if you want 500 bhp. 4k to 8k rpm is pl...

Re: Shane's rev 5 turbo,mapped 569 BHP, For Sale
So pretty much everything is back to how it was and improved on some parts, relocation of a engi e fan to below the turbo and almost level with the sump. Which is odd but it works very well. Oil pressure senor is still all over the place, reading 0to 10 bar. So I'll be getting this out and replaced....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Max HP on my setup
Hi mate couldn't honestly say but it works very well. It spools 750rpm faster then my gt35.82 which made 490 @ 1.6 bar.
So similar power levels at 1.6bar. just shifted in the rev range.
At 1.85 bar was its most efficient area at 569.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Max HP on my setup
G25 660 I Made 434wheel @ 1.6 bar, 4250 rpm. With a .92 AR.
If you was to go for the smaller AR you would be closer to your target and sooner RPM
Maybe a 550 might be enough?
