Re: Back on the road again - Black Mk1 - Pics 56k alert

It has been lacquered - it has to be since it is a metallic paint. 1000 parts black to 1 part silver which is the mix specification for the original Toyota paint code No way, so was the original black for the M1a a black metallic??? And here's mine after a respray with just plain black. Thi...

Re: Teardrops Refurb

Can you get a decent enough finish with the tyres still on the alloys? I'd like to sort out my teardrops at some point but can't take them all off the car at once and would ideally like to get some new (decent) rubber on the wheels asap (i.e. before I get round to sorting the alloys out). In particu...

Sounds interesting but I'm not sure if I'll be around that weekend at the moment.

How many people do you need to make it a go-er?
When do you need to know for definite?

Re: MK1 handbrake.......!!!!

Just a thought but are the undertrays beneath the engine and fuel tank missing on your car? Aren't the cables known for clogging up with crud and muck even with the undertrays on there? Without them it would probably be much worse.

Re: hate the wheels but lovely colour

The listing says it's metallic beige. Looks more like a pewter kind of colour to me. Didn't we get a metallic beige in the UK or was it called champagne gold or something? :-k I like the wheels, they wouldn't look good on all mk1s but they do complement this car well. And the speaker install in the ...

Re: Oil filter question - anyone bought one from Mr T recently?

Hi, this is not unusual. Mr T does sell them marked this way but they are fine and are the correct one. To be honest I dont believe there is any difference. Just a part number changing or an item no longer available so another is substituted. There appear to be Very few filters for Toyotas. Yes, th...

Re: Oil filter question - anyone bought one from Mr T recently?

I guess this might be the short filter/long filter thing. :-k Are your filters the long ones? The one I have is about the same length as the diameter so I would say it is short. My engine is an early one (going by the cam cover writing). I've yet to see what the filter currently on the engine looks ...

Oil filter question - anyone bought one from Mr T recently?

Popped into the local Toyota dealer yesterday to get some service items. I had my chassis number etc. for my mk1a so they could look up my car correctly. I got an oil filter but noticed that the side of the box said ENGINE APPLICATION A series (exc. 4A-G series). I queried this with the parts guy an...

I agree.
And the whole interior looks a bit like the kind of thing you see in a concept car.
It's not my taste though.

Re: [FINALIZED] Mk1 SUPERCHARGER for sale, JDM, manual gearbox, T-bar (UPDATED)

After some consideration I am reducing the asking price to £2500. I think this is a good price for an original, unmolested (no track use) JDM car with manual gearbox.

Re: Missfire / Running Issues - One For The Uber-Techies

Does your tacho needle go crazy when it starts to misfire? I had a problem with my SC where it would misfire and then stop. The tacho needle would be swinging around all over the place! It threw a code 1-4. It turned out that some coolant had got into the big green connector for the ignitor. It wasn...
