I had something similar in my integra type r's exhaust and it muffled the sound quite well, only downside is it does cause a bit of back pressure too

downpipe is used from the camry, and it is modified to join you choice of backbox, my car runs a blueflame turbo box modified to fit and it sounds lovely not asbo loud, but nice and deep on idle and even when u get going it is subtle.. search for db killers on ebay or visit your local exhaust place and ask them for a db killer (bung) to quieten the exhaust, usually u shove it into talipipe and held in with 2 bolts,
otherwise only other solution is get a quieter exhaust

I got a pair of vibe black death rectangle subs.. cut them into the lids.. run spot on with plenty of bass and the tbars sit on top with no issues..

V6 engine wise there are a few choices.. 3vzfe which is the easiest to do at home.. 1mzfe which similar to the 3vzfe to swap in but requires a little more wiring.. And finally the 2grfe which is the expensive one, as the engine is also currently fitted in the lotus evora.. cost wise the 3vz and 1mz ...
