Re: [Mk2] [Generic] SW20 heated windscreen
Has anybody managed to remove the heater/fan and successfully relied on just the heated windscreen for demisting in wet or damp weather?

[Mk2] [Generic] radiator fan switch
Hi,
I have just ripped out all the aircon with its ECU.
I now need to change the fan switch in the radiator from an aircon one to a non-aircon switch as well as a few wiring tweeks.
Does anybody know the part number or whether the plugs are the same or not.
Cheers
Phil

You say that you needed 25mm spacers on the rear to fill the arches but what width/offsets are your wheels?

Re: Rev4 Sonic Shadow 3.5L VVTi V6
I love the 2GR - mine steel feels uber-quick even after over 12 months. Even better since I had it remapped earlier this year by Rogue and rev limit is now just over 7k rpm - great sound. Next step must be some racier camshafts. Yours looks a very clean conversion - mine is a rally car and is lookin...

Re: Toyota Sprint Series
When is the TSS going to have an event in the South-West?
Venues like Colerne near Bath do both MSA sprints and track days.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] anti roll bars
The point that you haven't included is not so much the transfer of load from side to side but transfer from front to rear or vice versa. Increasing the rear roll stiffness without increasing the front is like putting stiffer coil springs on the rear. The result is that some of the load on the loaded...

[Mk2] [Generic] 2GR-FE standalone Engine management option
Finally Link have come up with the parameters necessary to run a Toyota 2GR-FE V6. Their G4 Engine management promised VVTi control of all 4 cams as it had done on other engines but when Thor mapped it last summer it turned out that it coudn't - so for the past 8 months I have had the cams fixed in ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] anti roll bars
I agree with ashman, that in most cases increasing rear roll stiffness (i.e. thicker rear arb with standard from arb) will give more oversteer. And the opposite effect is generally true if stiffening the front roll stiffness only. For road cars you should change both front and rear as a pair to avoi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Phoenix Power master cylinder / adjustable brake balance
Thanks guys,
The Phoenix Power setup is just what i was looking for but is twice the price I expected.
The Demon Tweeks remote setup is cheaper and I found an even cheaper setup from www.compbrake.co.uk
I shall let you know which I end up with.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Phoenix Power master cylinder / adjustable brake balance
I read a post about a master cylinder that allows adjustable brake balance setup that phoenix Power sell but the link no longer exists and I can't navigate around the japanese site! Anybody know anything about these and if I can still get hold of it? Or has anybody converted their brakes to dual mas...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Motec M4 or M400??
I have used both M4 and m400 on race cars and the biggest difference is the PC mapping software and data logging tools (the m400 being the more modern and useable). The m400 has better onboard traction control software and a couple of additional obscure features. But if you just want to drive it and...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Removing brake proportioning valve
Found it. On the Rev1 Manual it shows it being bolted to the master cylinder. However this is different to my Rev3 which has a similar looking block bolted onto the inner wing a few inches below the master cylinder. I think first experiment is to remove the Proportioning valve and replace with simpl...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Removing brake proportioning valve
I had another look at the Bible and it calls it the "Proportioning and By-pass valve" or "P & B valve assemby" for short. But it omits to say where it is or what it looks like. It keeps the brake bias 50/50 under light and moderate braking and then reduces the effort to the r...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Removing brake proportioning valve
Does anybody know where the brake compensator is located and how to disable it? Now I have fitted a Cusco suspension kit, the standard Rev3 front brakes lock very easily in the wet because of the stiffer front springs. The Toyota manual states that there is a 80/60 bias front to rear so disabling th...

Nurburgring
Called in at the nurburgring last week on a trip to Germany and it was absolutely awesome. I've done loads of hillclimbs and sprints over the years but none compare to this. Only had chance of one dry lap which was awesome but it rained on my next lap which was a bit frightening. Are there any MR2s ...

Turbo vs V6
This isn't a debate on whether a Mk2 turbo is quicker than a Mk2 V6 but a question on whether the V6 has any advantages when oversteering? My Rev3 Turbo has Cusco R struts (4kgmm front springs, 8 on rear) and about 280bhp on 15" R888, 1.75 deg front camber and 1.25 degree rear camber. I did a s...
