ok thanks, spoke to car radio shop and they said to try connecting battery, alarm will go off, close all the doors and hold down both buttons on remote to 're-code' remote to alarm.
Going to nip home in my lunch hour and give it a try.

Re: Replacing battery: Alarm goes off when connected and remote won't turn it off
I don't think its that as I replaced the battery in the remote in December and it seemed to be working fine.
I assume the problem is caused by the fact that I disconnected the old battery when the alarm was sounding. Any idea how I could reset it?

Replacing battery: Alarm goes off when connected and remote won't turn it off
My 1997 mr2 mk2 has been sitting on the drive for a while, wouldn't start and a few minutes after trying to start it the alarm went off to signify the battery was almost flat (as it did a while ago when I left the lights on). I knew the battery was very old so bought a new one, connected the leads i...

HELP! Engine fault light caused by low petrol?
On Saturday I bought a 2003 mk3, it drove fine on the test drive but the fuel light was on the whole time, after paying for it I crawled to the nearest petrol station but 5 minutes in to the journey the engine fault light came on  . I put fuel in it and the low fuel light went off but the engin...

mr2 headlights: misty and discoloured yellow
I'm looking at buying a 2003 mr2 roadster but noticed that the headlights are misty and the top third of them are discoloured yellow, is this a simple/cheap problem to solve?

[Mk2] [NA] problem replacing rev3 sidelights with rev 4/5 clear sidelights
A few months ago I replaced the standard orange sidelights on my MR2 rev3 for some clear Toyota ones that I bought on the forum and assume are from a rev 4 or 5. When I came to fit them I found that the connector was different so I cut the connector off my old orange lights and wired it to the new c...

Re: weight? turbo fibreglass engine cover vs na steel engine cover
since the rain tray underneath is metal on the turbo engine cover I wasn't sure if it would really be much lighter?

weight? turbo fibreglass engine cover vs na steel engine cover
I was wondering if anyone knew the weight of a standard MR2 Turbo fibreglass engine cover in comparison to a NA steel engine cover, is it much lighter?

Re: Yellow stuff pads with standard or grooved discs road/track???
ok, I've spent the last few weeks trying to decide on a disc/pad combo and have received nothing but conflicting opinion.. I guess brake choice is largely down to personal preference.
I know CRN discs are cheap but are they as good quality and long lasting as EBC or standard discs?

Re: Yellow stuff pads with standard or grooved discs road/track???
i put new yellow ebcs onto brand new Toyota disks all round about 4000 miles ago and front disks are now fooked if you drive like miss daisy then you dont heat the pads up and you wont get much braking . but if you use the brakes hard standard disks will not last long iv been advised to get the ebc...

Yellow stuff pads with standard or grooved discs road/track???
My front and rear discs and pads need replacing and since Ive got trackdays planned and booked for the summer and enjoy fast road driving I was going to get EBC yellow stuff pads all round. However, I wasnt sure whether to go for EBC grooved discs all round or instead to get standard discs and sav...
