Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

As the previous owner responsible for these I can help: 1, from a MK3 MR2. 2, idea/guide came from a Twobrutal thread on the Toyobd1. Hardwired to diagnostic port wiring with a 3 way toggle switch in the boot. http://www.twobrutal.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?23132-toyobd1-surprised-there-s-been-no-me...

Re: folding mirror kit, pair of Greddy copy skirts,TPMS

Wondered what happened to these! Some pictures here when I sold the car to give an idea of the look I was going for. Skirts have been rubbed down and filled so shouldn't take a massive amount of work to have a unique look. http://s1078.photobucket.com/user/sbl103/slideshow/V86 Hope the link still wo...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Well done on the MOT. I never had any issues without a cat either as my local tester understood the conversion :) Strange about the handbrake. I always stripped the calipers down and cleaned them pretty much yearly - stainless steel pistons are fitted. The cables aren't that old but the pagid ones d...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Nice to see the HKS back in place:). That'll be why I never had the same issues as you then! I couldn't tell a noise difference with or without a recirc pipe. The recirc adapter itself made a nicer sound than than usual HKS insert to my ears. That bracket is a bit overkill I know but it works and al...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Yes, I hit my set boost limit a few times on very cold days. When I had it set up I would utilise a few different programs depending on the weather/planned driving/MOT.

No gain - oh dear! Completely lost all the benefits of the ECB if not set #-o

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Possible although since that was a peak/target setting I still think the current warmer ambient temperature might be holding you back slightly. It was amazing how a much difference a cold morning made! Check the settings and go from there. Once you understand how the controller works you'll see how ...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Your car now and I know you'll look after it. I'm a big fan of subtle and classy so good luck with it. Be nice to see a cleaner engine bay - something I always wanted to do eventually.

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Might be worth re-setting the GFB back to factory settings and starting again. You may have done this already though.

I liked the blue Hoses:)

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Worth asking. I'd included some stock side vents that I'd modified with centre bar removed. Strange they weren't included with the car. Pictures in my original sale thread.

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Looking good so far. I never worried about changing the exhaust Chris supplied the car with as it made working on the car easier :). I do like a twin exhaust though for symmetry. Not sure what happened to the Patrick Chambers Greddy Copy skirts I sold with the car. I'd started modifying them as I wa...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Seemed to be no longer moving after my 'fix'. A few people with the same ARB said they shift from side to side. No idea why they move but stock ones don't. Patrick Chambers came up with another idea to weld washers on to solve the same issue which is an option.

Good work so far :). You probably noticed my unorthodox solution to the shifting rear Whiteline ARB issue!

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Lol, the active silencer is tight - damn tight. I did it by using two pairs of pliers to grip the 'fins' and pulled while rocking slightly side to side. Once it starts coming out it gets much easier. Give it another go, don't be a quitter [-( My trick was using an old towel/rag threaded aroun...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

You have Chris to thank for the paintwork. I just kept it as good as I could. Definitely polishes up nice. Great photo - not easy to capture the shine on a white car.

Ahh, delightful things. That wire accidentally broke did it?

Indeed. Whilst unplugging it! To be fair it's not as bad as other ones and the alarm system has been very reliable.

Not being a mad nutter fast driver I wasn't worried about the extra weight from the sub but I see your point :). The OEM Active Sound System I installed always sounded pretty good to me anyway.

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

Great work so far. Trailing wires are just left over from when Michael removed the behind seat Subwoofer and Frunk sub amp. He obviously didn't appreciate the extra bass/seat massager! That plug and unit in the centre console is a Perimeter warning module for the alarm. Think one of the wires came l...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)

You like my old car then :) That's not a bung, it's an Apexi Active Silencer. Makes a huge difference with no loss of power. Was in and out more times than I care to mention. Loved the sound with it out but the neighbour's fence used to rattle when I started her up. Plus no drone at idle! Very pleas...
