Re: [Mk2] [Generic] insane steel wheels!!!

Jaysus! Some width on the rear!

Just saw on their Facebook page that Monday was the last day for custom orders, to be delivered in Nov/Dec :(

I also think the 5SPs could look nice.

Let us know what kind of prices you get back from them :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which turbo for quick spool

^^^

This was another option for me. And I would guess a cheaper one too.

Again, happy to run at 1.0 to 1.1 (somewhere between 300-330?), what do people think?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Which turbo for quick spool

Great discussion, thanks to all for the input.

And can anyone say for certain, that exhaust wrap could also help slightly?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Which turbo for quick spool

Hi all, Been doing a bit of research, and think I'm coming up with a GT28 series, but I was wondering peoples' thoughts on what a quick spooling turbo would be. Ideally looking for something that will come on boost very quickly. Not looking for big BHP numbers, would rather have the power lower down...

Re: Fitting oil temp and pressure gauges

IIRC there are 2 threaded ports near the filter that are perfect for this, you just might need a brass adaptor.

Hopefully someone else can jump in with the pic I have in my brain

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Gauge Cluster Swap - Lexus IS200 or other?

What got me thinking about this whole idea was when I stumbled across this on a random internet journey:

Absolutely fell in love. I may just look at sitting down with an older set of clocks to see what I can do

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Gauge Cluster Swap - Lexus IS200 or other?

To be honest, I'm not fussed by having the LCD panel working, just the main gauges. I'll keep the proper cluster for when it's NCT (MOT) time.

Just curious if anyone else has undertaken such a feat!

[Mk2] [Generic] Gauge Cluster Swap - Lexus IS200 or other?

I've been researching this for a while, but I was wondering if anyone knows of, or has done a complete gauge cluster swap? Ideally, the Lexus IS200 one, as it's gorgeous. But I think I read somewhere that a Celica GT-S/VVTL-I one was done before. I don't mind the actual fabbing/making it fit bit, bu...

Re: What's it worth? MR2 Rev5 GTS 64k miles

Car was imported about 8 years ago but was dry-stored for 6.5 of those (garage went bankrupt). Then the previous owner bought it, drove 400 miles, then I got my hands on it. In Ireland, we don't use salt thankfully, so the underside is exceptionally rust free. I've had several mechanics mention this...

What's it worth? MR2 Rev5 GTS 64k miles

I've a JDM 1998 Rev 5 GTS with a few mods done in Japan (Apexi Power FC + boost unit, Kakimoto exhaust, drilled and grooved discs, sports cat, HKS intercooler, genuine Border bonnet, genuine (99% sure) SARD front bumper, Lenso D1R wheels all round and it only has 103,000 KMs (64k miles) on it. What ...

Re: Meguires Vs Autoglym

I love the Farcela gear used with a Kestrel DA. Worked wonders on the Legacy. I'm currently testing a few different finishing polishes (Dodo Juice, Megs, Chemical Guys) to see what gives the deepest mirror finish. Chemical Guys - Blacklight is next in my tests and I've heard great things, so let's s...

This is a stunning build. Not everything is to my taste, but Christ, you have to appreciate the work that has gone into it. Absolutely unreal, well done sir.

Re: Diesel!?

Absolutely, impressive nonetheless. Nice and torquey as well

Off topic: Another thing to note is that modified cars are going for a lot less in Ireland than in the UK. I bought a Rev 5 GTS Import for the equivalent of £2200 with 90k KMs on the clock and lots of goodies from Japan
