Re: [Mk2] [NA] Exhaust blowing URGENT need a replacement

Why not find out which part is blowing first.

It could be just the flexi which can be replaced....look on ebay for back boxes or full systems, your'll need rev3+ ones tho or look on the breakers section on here.

Re: Water heater pipe repair...?

The standard fix is to chop the rotten section of pipe out and replace with a rubber section. You dont need the bracket bit...you could tie it if you want.

My pipes where completly removed for rubber ones.

MK3 project - £1000

Due to buying our first house that needs a fair bit of internal work, I have no time to properly finish my mk3 project, so passing it on to someone else. W reg mk3 with 109k miles - 5 speed manual - engine/box/shafts have been removed already but are included in the sale. No history. Think it might ...

Re: MK3 project

Since dropping the old engine and delivery of the replacement, nothing has been or will likely to be done for a long time due to buying my first house with the GF and all my spare time will be taken up with house stuff. So rather than let it sit in my garage, will pass this on to someone else who ca...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My MR2 is sick!

Do you have a boost gauge (not the standard one) if not get one chop chop and find out what boost you are actually running. Does it have any type of boost controller fitted? If you pull the air temp sensor on the engine lid the intercooler fan will run all the time, this will not "cool" th...

Re: this may sound like a stupid question but....

Probably because your car is fueling perfectly is the reason.

Perhaps if you were getting lots of unburnt fuel in the downpipe/cat and it were to sudderly ignite or make it have serious detonation you would get a pop and bang....then you can rebuild your engine afterwards!

Cheers Marc, think I'll feel the same when/if it goes but at the moment the money is better spent on the house than a car.

You still have the Lotus?

Yeah, everything APART from the acutal place your buying !!!

Well, getting the rocker cover gasket sorted as its leaking a fair bit now, also planning on re-doing the down pipes for a better flow as one of the flexi pipes is now blowing.

More jobs to do!

Re: Possibly buying a MK 3

If you do some research then you should find out that pre'03 cars have the rubbish piston design which leads to the oval bores. Get one with full history and check it through. Ask the right questions about how much oil it uses, Mr T says that these engines can use up to 1 ltr every 1000 miles. Any p...
