Re: warning lights

You thought wrong then!

All uk's are n/a's

Imports are turbos and n/a's

You will need a rev1 cluster if you have a mechanical speedo drive, if yours is electric you will need a rev2+ cluster.

Re: Back in a MR2 - nearly - Rev 3 n/a

Hi Marc !

Yeah but my daily driver is a E91 BMW 320d so don't mind a turbo for a toy. You still got the Lotus and the Rev3?

Re: Back in a MR2 - nearly - Rev 3 n/a

Will do....the thing is so original it still has the meaningless triangle rubber thingy on the rear cross member !!!

I'd rather buy another one to modify than this one, shame its not a t-bar or it would of been a keeper.

Re: Back in a MR2 - nearly - Rev 3 n/a

Oh yeah, shame this isn't a turbo but may sell this in the summer and find a turbo. The prices seem to of dropped quite a bit in recent years.

Back in a MR2 - nearly - Rev 3 n/a

Since selling my second V6 over a year ago and being MR2less for the first time in over 10 years, I picked up a winter project the other week: It only has 43,600 miles from new, can't see any rust on it at all and its a UK one. Needs a new clutch, brakes refurbishing and general detailing to be 100%...

Re: warning lights

Engine light should come on and turn off once started, I cant tell what symbol under neath the engine light is.

The front fog light symbol shouldn't come on at all without the fog light on.

Try and bridge TE1 and E1 and check which light flashes, that will be the engine check light.

I can guarantee that you will get zero serious offers without photos.

Re: Removing gearbox??

Drain gear box fluid first as the n/a drive shafts dont unbolt and leave the half shafts attached like the turbo boxes. The drive shafts just tug out and spilling the gear oil everywhere!

Re: wiring looms worth anything?

I dismantled a couple of mk2's and the loom from the battery to the alternator is a thick copper wire which is ideal for re-locating the battery in a MK1 as it has the connectors already on there.

I sold both for £10er and easy to remove.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Auto to manual conversion?

Too much grief and a lot of work to change over to be honest. I would just buy a manual one to start with. You would need: Good manual gearbox (upto £200) Maybe drive shafts but dont know if they are the same as auto Clutch - £55 Flywheel - £25 secondhand? Rear clutch pipework Slave cylinder Manual ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Bleeding my clutch after engine swap help.

Trouble is that if the pedal can be pushed to the floor with a little finger than you will be there for hours !!!

I found it a 5 minute job on my own by bleeding at the gearbox end. Pushing the clutch arm in myself underneath the car.
