That's what I was thinking looking closer at the original setup yesterday I see the funnel shaped bulkhead. As I'm not having the front mounted intercooler no more just the actual radiator turbulence shouldn't be an issue, but is good to know
Cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
No defo gonna finish it. Dunno if this has been done or asked before but gonna ask! The radiator slants backwards which seems to look inefficient to cool the radiator down? Surely it would be better slanted forwards scoop up the air? Mixed with a large vent in the bonnet would be much better at cool...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
That you did, it was so close to being sold. In fact it was sold, but the buyer bailed last minute due to not being able to collect it. After that I decided to soldier on and get it done. Plans on it have changed slightly to lower costs and labour involved in doing this conversion. I have sold the g...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Converting to manual steering

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
I'm not overly keen on the fuel tank going in the boot but there's nowhere else to put it :-( it's gonna be foam filled to stop the sloshing. Maybe if it becomes an out and out track car the tank can replace the passenger seat lol On the other hand more weight on the back wheels can give more grip o...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
Exhaust will probably be a 4" yeah, I've saved some room by removing the water pipes :-) so will have 2 exhaust pipes,1 boost pipe,2 oil pipes. Should be able to fit all that in the tunnel. As silly as this is I want it have no visible signs of what's been done. Wanna have that sleeper thing go...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
I'm not expecting rapid spool up at all! But the 5.0litre should be able to power the turbo with enough to compensate for the extra piping. The throttle body will literally be between the seats so about 2metres in total for the charged air to travel. The turbo being mounted in the front also keeps e...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
Yeah see that one in a previous post, I'm gonna run all the pipe work through the tunnel where the fuel tanks usually goes, and run a boot mounted fuel tank

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
I was like that before I decided this, I had a lovely 3sgte which was almost ready! RMR inlet, tubucular exhaust mani, high lift cams, ported head. But all I could think of was is any of this even remotely original? And It bugged me lol

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
I don't really have an expected finishing date, just cracking on with it when I get the time. I'm hoping by mid next year maybe.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] K36 UNL V12
There's a few reasons I'm putting the turbo up front. Firstly it's to distribute the weight as evenly as I can, It allows the exhaust manifold to join together at the front of the engine in to one large single exhaust pipe. Again maintaining equal balance left and right. Also the turbo is just toooo...

Here is where the battery tray used to sit, once the manual steering rack is on it'll be clear for the exhaust pipes and boost pipe to go through
