[Mk2] [Turbo] Ignition/ starter issue
Been tarting my engine bay up and have inadvertently caused an issue. Firstly when I put the key to the on position (not start position) the starter motor engages which is obviously incorrect, I tested each wire at the starter relay connector and they responded as expected. I then took the cover off...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Changing rocker cover gasket
Old post I know but have a question that applies, is this a suitable sealant for the three hi-lighted areas when installing cam cover? http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/head-gasket-exhaust-repairs/loctite-5699-premium-silicone-grey-gasket-maker-sealant?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Garag...

Re: Track Day - Drive By Limits -
I did a track day at snetterton in February, drive by limit was 96db I think. Either way I have a screamer pipe which is pretty loud on drive by and had no issues mainly due to (like others have said) the sensors are quite far off the track. In comparison I did goodwood in December with driveby of 9...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cam cover washers/ bolts
Thanks for the replies. I'll order that set then, clean up the mating face of existing sealant and install as per the maintenance manual.
Cheers

[Mk2] [Turbo] Cam cover washers/ bolts

Having my cover resprayed so looking to replace them. https://mr2-ben.co.uk/products/660 Also on the subject, would people advise me to change the seals/ gaskets for the cam cover even if they were only replaced about 2000...

Re: What do this connectors do?
I wasn't very clear, there is no wideband sensor installed now, just a blanked bung on the downpipe, so correct me if I'm wrong but it'll just be running an open loop system whereby the fuel isn't trimmed to suit real world conditions/ o2 feedback, What I'm unsure on is whether this is a good or bad...

Re: What do this connectors do?
Yeh I've got 4 all of which are disconnected and have partially melted whilst flapping around, I have no idea what is happening re: o2 sensor, there is a bung on the downpipe where they must have plumbed a wide band sensor for mapping then I don't know for adjustments whilst running? Anyone with mor...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
What is the current tune - 431hp? Is was dyno'd at 431hp at 1.7bar. But when road checking it afterward when aggressively shifting it was detting so lost some ignition. I've also sincere turned the boost down a touch to try to stop gaskets on the exhaust side falling to pieces. It needs some more d...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Defi BF Boost gauge issue
It's the gauges associated with the control unit v1, guessing the bf link meter. I took the gauge apart and rightly or wrongly moved the needle to the stop pin plugged it back in and nothing. Seems pretty goosed. Short of totally disassembling I don't know what to do, but even if I do take it apart ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Defi BF Boost gauge issue
Wondering if anyone has experience in this or similar story with a fix, my defi boost gauge decided to freeze today at-0.4, even when powered off and removed it stuck at -0.4?
note its one of the original types not the advance bf.
cheers

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Cheers, I was unsure about them and is one of those jobs that it looks a lot worse before it gets better haha just have to stick to your guns and have faith. This was a before and after first rough cut to show how high I took it, imo there was no point leaving unecessary metal, just extra weight and...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Thanks for the comments guys. Turbo is a 3076r. Developement from recent track activity, drivers side front wheel has serious play, and on inspection looks like inner steering rack rod end has play in it, so will replace both inners and track rod ends. Also breaks feel spongey so going to replace th...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Progress on the car since last update, let pictures do the talking, finished arches, made up a front splitter and got it on track. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s276/mattw_99/4789DC88-09AA-41E1-81FD-6996818FD0E0.jpg http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s276/mattw_99/FF24479D-B623-4511-8C5B-764320...
