Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil sandwich plates
I had read on other sites about those locations, but also (probably Internet lies as usual) that they weren't the best points to measure from for reasons I can't remember. Have you mounted there before with successful realistic/ reliable readings then?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Oil sandwich plates
Hi, need an oil filter sandwich plate to run temp and pressure sensors to my defi gauges (1/8 pt fittings). Wondering if anyone has one of these installed on their mr2 and if so did you go for the 'standard', 'short' or 'small' 3/4x16 option in the drop down selection? http://www.driftworks.com/alfi...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Apexi avcr mounting
i'm sure i seen custom holders for these that replaces the interior light, coolest location ever!!! Yeh now you mention it I do remember seeing a picture/ for sale of something like that. Having not run this unit yet does it flash whilst operating (my current gizzmo does) and if it was located up t...

custom job obviously
I'm currently planning to fit my oil temp, pressure and water temp gauges in the blower vent locations. Similar to the candy red mr2 build. Stolen idea but it looked very smart and in a good field of view.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Apexi avcr mounting
The ash tray was my first thoughts/ obvious location, seems more than likely I'll make up a molded mounting then. Just trying to think outside of the box for a really neat location, but drew a blank hence the thread. Hmm...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Well I hope the new turbo sits where you want it, be a bu88er to re-fab that again. Yeh keep me updated via pm, you got a build thread? My plans are never ending, as with a lot of other members by the looks of it. I want to wide arch it, either abflug or have a go at making some custom ones. Me and ...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Id say battery not holding enough charge to keep it all going. I would replace battery first then alternator if that doesnt cure it. Also redo the leads to the battery as these can crack and fail over time so could cause a problem under a large load. I suppose first thing to do is check the charge ...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Long time since my last post, life has been busy/ draining without trying to get stuck into the car. I have however finally fabricated a new heat shield (pics to follow). I have had a problem though. Was out for a drive the other week early morning so lights were on, it then started to spit with rai...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Real nice looking car you have there.. Had a sneaky read of this earlier at work but never got the chance to post. Great spec aswell! I bet it drives really nice on both road and for track... With regards to the rev limit question. What valve springs do you have in there? Cheers, yeh it drives well...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Nice car and liking your approach :thumleft: Interested to see how it all progresses :) Thanks :thumleft: A question for all with experience, what are opinions on raising the stock rev limit on a build like this? After driving more frequently I feel I'm wasting too much time changing gear when the ...

Re: The journey of one man and his Mule(s)
That is seriously cool, how controllable/ planted is it on corner exists, I can imagine it could be quite a handful? Only thing I would say is relief drilling the corners on your pulley cover only to meet the tan line intersects of the bends (if that's the final one, as you did mention 'mock up') vi...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Nice car mate, only things I would say is, to lose the Tom's scoop and align the headlight lids. Just my 2p. Enjoy. :thumleft: Cheers, it is a bit shameful but I like the look of the toms scoop at least until I achieve my final visual dreams, but it is undoubtably a total waste of time in terms of ...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
Great looking car mate :thumleft: My opinion- heat deflection is the way to go, heat sinking will ultimately keep heat in the engine bay and lead to engine heat soak :thumleft: Was surprised you went with a walbro in tank fuel pump as well as an external pump- if the in tank pump is just lifting to...

Re: Rev 3 gts project.
In terms of engine bay need to remake a more attractive heat shield.
What's people's opinions is containment of heat a better approach or effectively disipate heat aka heat sink style?

Got out in the car loads this weekend thanks to the weather and took a pic of the engine bay whilst at it http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s276/mattw_99/A07B9001-71E6-4338-B673-9011C35D899C.jpg We're currently renting a place down an unmade road so the amount of dust is unstoppable, I wasted hours...

Cheers, The engine bay is a sight for sore eyes at the moment. Needs more tidying up but I'll post a pick this weekend to hopefully show a comparison when I finally get round to sorting it out.
