Its just a standard one Peter. Having watched a couple of generic "how to" videos on Youtube it seems fairly straight forward, however, I don't want to overlook something that may be particular to the MR2.

Anyone? Even the most basic of advice would be appreciated.

Paying for Premium Membership Without PayPal

Hi Mods, After many many many years of membership, I am keen to upgrade to Premium Membership, however, I don't have a PayPal account and I'm reluctant to set one up having seen several friends experience issues with Paypal. Is there any way I can become a premium member without going down the Paypa...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Swapping the Fuel Pressure Regulator - Procedure

Hi folks,

I've now got my fuel filter and replacement fuel pressure regulator waiting to be fitted, whilst I've found a pretty decent how-to guide for the filter, I'm totally ignorant to the procedure for the regulator.

Can anyone offer a quick how-to? Anything to be wary of etc?

Thanks

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Poly bushed suspension fitted. driving feedback.

If you buy coilovers I'm already thinking you want rigid. Nope, I bought coilovers because I couldn't get the standard Billies so went for the best quality and most adjustable suspension set up I could afford. If I wanted a stiff set up I wouldn't have got rid of my 17s for a set of standard 15s ei...

I worry that the car would feel too rigid with polybushes teamed up with my Superstreets.

So chaps, how do I check the injectors and fuel pump for blockages?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pressure Regulators and Fuel Cut Defencers

Hmmm, it appears that my MAP sensor (as in the turbo pressure sensor next to the diagnostics port) is disconnected. Would this mean that the ECU doesn't know how much boost is being generated and therefore isn't increasing the fueling to match? From what I can see you have a Rev 2 so the "map&...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pressure Regulators and Fuel Cut Defencers

You need to check your fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel injectors for blockages, there are filters in the pump and injectors They did check the filter, which whilst old is apparently ok. He also said that the injectors and pump were fine too although the injectors are operating at the higher end of ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pressure Regulators and Fuel Cut Defencers

What was the air to fuel ratio at max power? That is the important information. Did they use a wide band sensor? What is your base ign timing set to? What fuel did you use? The car wasn't run above 5000rpm due to detonation. The reading of 4% that was taken at 4500rpm translates to an AFR of 13. I ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pressure Regulators and Fuel Cut Defencers

CO figure was 4%, fuel pressure without vacuum at idle was 48psi. What was the engine doing when the CO measurement was taken? Idling? What were the measurements when the engine was reportedly running lean? The CO figure of 4% was taken at 4500rpm and 12psi boost which is where it's running most le...

Yep, ecu and fueling componants are standard.

CO figure was 4%, fuel pressure without vacuum at idle was 48psi.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Pressure Regulators and Fuel Cut Defencers

Just got back from my rolling road session at Interpro, the car is indeed running lean above 5000rpm. AFM, Injectors, fuel pump were all ok, the issue seems to be that as the revs increase boost climbs north of 12psi and starts to nudge fuel cut. Fuel pressure was low but apparently within tolerance...

Re: Brakes still really spongy after bleeding

I don't wish to insult your intelligence but I would go around the car one more time bleeding each caliper very carefully. I had the same issue after fitting a caliper myself. Had bled the system several times, convinced that I had got every last bubble of air out.....alas...no. Decided to try one m...

AFR reads around 17 at idle, get knock at high load and low revs, sometimes get a puff of grey smoke at high revs during wide open throttle.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Health Checking the AFM

I'm pretty sure my Rev 2 Turbo is running lean. I've got it booked in for a dyno session with Interpro next week to hopefully get to the bottom of it, but having read other posts on the subject I'm starting to suspect a problem with the AFM. So, how do I go about checking that it's operating correct...

JDM Number Plate Dimensions

Finally ran out of luck with my small front plate, slap on the wrist and a £60 fine. Absolutely deserved, pure laziness that stopped me from changing it.

Anyway, I've now got a bracket from Mr T, but just wanted to confirm the correct dimensions for a JDM plate on an SW20?

Thanks
