[Mk2] [Turbo] Uneven tyre wear on rear axle
I noticed recently that when my car goes over inconsistencies in the road surface such as large metal drain covers or bumps, the rear end becomes very unsettled around the NSR wheel. Checked my tyres and the NSR is pretty worn, not far off the wear indicators. Checked the OSR and there's significant...

Re: Misfire in Rain
Having driven from Bath to London this morning in conditions Noah would be familiar with I can confirm that the car now runs fine in the rain I've changed the distributor, rotor arm and King lead, so it was one of them although I can't say exactly which one.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Getting the Electric Aerial to Work
Check you are getting the required power at both feeds. Yes 2 live feeds. 1 perm. Via the amp behind passenger side panel behind seat (iirc pink wire) and switched live from stereo I bet thats it. A previous owner (for some unknown reason) has bypassed the standard amp driven system and wired a set...

Re: Misfire in Rain
Leads are genuine Toyota, a few years old but very few miles on them and the car is garaged so very little wear and tear or exposure to the elements. No sign of water in the plug wells, and the plug are brand spanking NGK BKR7Es so should be ok. Coil is new, I'm starting to think, dizzy or king lead...

Misfire in Rain
My Rev 2 Turbo isn't happy in the wet at the mo. If caught in a downpour whilst driving or left ourside in the rain overnight it seems to misfire until it dries out. I suspected the coil pack so changed that and the spark plugs at the same time but the issue remains. I'm sure I've heard people talk ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Getting the Electric Aerial to Work
It's all connected at the aerial end and intact as far as I'm aware (I bought it to replace my old snapped unit). I think the problem is in the wiring behind the stereo. Is there some kind of JDM/MR2 idiosyncracy going on in the wiring?

[Mk2] [Generic] Getting the Electric Aerial to Work
So, having owned my 2 for 11 years its never had a working electric aerial. I understand its a PITA to get it working is there a guide anywhere? Its all installed and in one piece it just seems to by a wiring issue. At present its stuck in the down position so I dont get any reception. To be honest ...

Re: mr2 sputters and hesitate, with boost, without it runs fine
If you have completely ruled out vacuum leaks then as others have said look at your ignition components. Check everything is where it should be and nothings loose or arcing. Then I would change the spark plugs. Go for copper core plugs (I use NGK BKR7E) rather than platinum or anything that claims t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What's Happened to My Clutch?
So it was the clutch cover at fault. One of the springs had snapped off and become wedged preventing the movement of the release bearing.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] passenger side headlight bulb dull both main and dip beam
ok, so the passenger side headlight bulb has this annoying habit of not coming on properly. I mean the headlight unit rises into position ok but the headlight bulb is very dull, almost like a sidelight. Doesn't do that all the time but whenever it suits itself. Using either dip or main beam has the...

Slave piston looks fine, a mechanic friend of mine watched the action as I operated the clutch pedal.

Re: help with crunching gearbox 3sgte
How did you diagnose that mate? Take a look at the clutch master cylinder (near the brake master cylinder in the frunk), if the fluid is a murky black then it could be indicative of knackered seals. Mine was gopping, really thick and murky so I bought a replacement seal kit from Peter Gidden on her...

Err...both really. It grinds like mad trying to get it into reverse and absolutely will not go. For the forward gears the gear stick just will not move into position as if there's a physical obstruction.

[Mk2] [Turbo] What's Happened to My Clutch?
Long story short; With the engine off I can select gears as usual with no undue resistance in the gearshift. Engine on, I cannot physically select any gears. I can start the car in gear but I'm unable to subsequently change gear thereafter. Having looked at the clutch master cylinder and slave cylin...

Re: help with crunching gearbox 3sgte
Merely speculation, but I had a similar problem which turned out to be perished clutch slave cylinder seals. I'm sure someone more qualified will be along soon to confirm or deny that possibility.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch Pedal Dropping
Mike, did you ever resolve this? Having very similar on my Rev 2 turbo. Sorry mate, not on here very often these days. To answer your question, yes I did get it sorted back in 2012. Rogue installed a new seal kit to the clutch master cylinder whilst the car was in for other unrelated work. However,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Strange Gearbox/Clutch Issue
No grinding, the gear stick moved freely around the neutral position but wen I tried to select a gear there's just complete resistance, the lever just will not push into gear.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Strange Gearbox/Clutch Issue
So, on Thursday I pull out of a junction and attempt to change from 1st to 2nd and I can't physically get the car into gear, any gear in fact. Pulled into a safe spot and no amount of fancy clutch work or wrenching on the gear stick will find a gear. The clutch pedal felt fine. I check the clutch ma...
