My Rev 2 Turbo is building up a job list of eye-watering proportions. Its been a while since I've done much with the car, I always used to find the parts I needed with the likes of MR2 Ben, Fensport, Rogue and Camskill but I am struggling to find the parts I need at the moment. I'm not a big fan of ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Tubby Induction Kits
Since buying my car 16 years ago, I've had the same HKS induction kit installed. I haven't had any problems with it and it sounds great but there's no heat shield and the replacement elements are increasingly difficult to get hold of so I'm considering a replacement. Which kits are held in the highe...

Jacking locations other than the sills
My near side sill is holed and will soon be repaired. Even once repaired I'm now a bit twitchy about jacking the car on the jacking points along the sills. What other jacking points are there on the mk2? Pictures would be very very helpful

Sorry, just seen that they've already been asked for.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev counter under-reading
So, I've now fitted a replacement rev counter. However, now when I turn on the ignition the needle immediately jumps up and sits at around 3k rpm before starting the engine. Any ideas why this could be the case?

MR2 Specialist Bristol/Bath Area
It's cambelt time and over the last 15 years of MR2 ownership I've learnt that not all garages are equal when it comes to changing the belts on the MR2. Now I'm a "responsible" husband and father I can't really justify an all day trip to Rogue to get it done. Are there any knowledgeable ga...

Do you by any chance still have the instrument cluster (specifically after a rev counter but appreciate that you'd more likely want to sell as a complete unit)?

Radiator options
I've just discovered that my radiator is virtually non-existent! Looking at a replacement. Has anyone tried this item from MR2 Ben https://mr2-ben.co.uk/products/121 Or this one from Fensport https://www.fensport.co.uk/collections/toyota-mr2-turbo-rev-2-3s-gte-12-91-11-93/products/radiator-mr2-mk2 A...

Can you? I did not know that. Could be a solution.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev counter under-reading
Hi folks. My rev-counter has developed an annoying habit of under-reading, probably displaying about 50% of the likely true RPM of the engine. I suppose I have two questions: Is this common (had my tubby for 15 years and never heard of this personally) and therefore a well know fix? Or, should I jus...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Headlight upgrades
I used to do a lot of cross-country (as in Somerset to Norfolk) night time driving in my MR2 and the combination of halogens in a low car wasn't great when every new German repmobile or lifestyle 4x4 seemed to be engaged in some kind of lighting battle with everything else on the road. In the end I ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] The Exhaust Thread
I'm interested in people's experiences with different aftermarket exhausts; ideally but not as a rule, backed up with data (bhp measurements, decibel readings etc). My car has always had a Blitz Nur Spec fitted which whilst being well made and reportedly good for supporting big bhp builds, is bloomi...

Hmm, possibly. I'm in that just sorting out a few niggles before selling phase. I don't want to sell it but I struggle to justify keeping it. Its a Rev 2 that I've owned since 2005, if you'd like more info drop me a PM.

What engine oil in your mega miles Tubby?
It's been a long time since I've posted on here, and I realise that over the years there have been many posts on engine oil but I specifically want to talk about higher mileage engines. I drove my MR2 yesterday for the first time in a while and checking the oil it's looking pretty dark. Now as my ca...

Windscreen Wiper Motors
My wipers only work when activated manually (ie the single wipe function) none of the other settings work. I'm thinking its probably the wiper motor so I'm planning to replace it. I have a 1992 Rev 2 GT Turbo, are there any differences in the wiper motors over the years/across the SW20 model range? ...

Water ingress into frunk and boot
Hi folks, I'm getting significant water ingress in both the frunk and the boot of my car. Even if the car is outside parked up in heavy rain it leaks. I can't see any obvious points where water could be getting through, I'm thinking maybe the seals need replacing. Anyone had this problem?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Parts Suppliers
I don't use my Tubby so much anymore, so it's been a while since I've needed to buy parts. I often used to use Camskill but I see they've given up on the parts side of the business. I'd like some advice on who's good for brake parts? The sliders/calliper carrier on my NSF is sticking so I'm after a ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Uneven tyre wear on rear axle
The wear is pretty even across the tyre but perhaps slightly more exaggerated on the outside edges. The car is booked in for a geometry check tomorrow so we'll see what the outcome of that is.
